BMW spearheads all-electric dreams with New i3s

Previously unveiled at the Malaysia Auto Show, the BMW i3s now has an official price of  RM 278,800. If you plan to go all-electric early, this is an opportune moment to test drive the BMW i3s at selected BMW dealership nationwide.

A look at the BMW i3s reveals polished accents and a rather clean design befitting an all-electric. The car is also 80% furnished with recycled and renewable resources inside and out. The front is decked with a black U-shaped surround with high-gloss black accent to pair with the kidney grille. More trim strips are available on the front apron, to match the LED headlights/turn signals, gloss black accent on the A-pillar and roof. The rear has a spoiler with black surrounds to go with the 20-inch double spoke wheels and ‘hanging’ LED rearlights.

With the refinement of the BMW eDrive technology, the i3s guarantees an emission-free drive without compromising on driving and energy efficiency, with a respectable output of 184hp and peak torque of 270 Nm. Of course, the i3s and electric cars by BMW are supported by the ChargEV platform through BMW Malaysia’s partnership with GreenTech Malaysia and anywhere with available charging pods. Meantime, a motor pairing with Single-Speed Automatic Transmission means the car sprints from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. On pure electric, the car is expected to achieve a range of 260km.

Inside, BMW’s newest EEV is furnished with the BMW i Interior Design Suite that features an open-pored eucalyptus wood instrument panel, door linings are also decked in eucalyptus and exquisite upholstery in Dark Truffle Leather Vernasca. The BMW i3s is complete with Carum Spice Grey headliner, naturally-tanned leather and a premium leather steering wheel. Other highlights are the BMW ConnectedDrive, navigation and the whole nine yards when it comes to Tech. Plus, all the necessary driver’s assistance systems.

The BMW i3s does conventional charging, even via a smartphone with the BMW ConnectedDrive or through personal computers (PC) and tablets. In addition, the BMW i Wallbox facilitates lightning speed charging at home for a significantly longer all-electric driving range.

The New all-electric  BMW i3s comes in Fluid Black, Capparis White and Mineral Grey hues. To find out more, visit a BMW showroom or logon to
