Based on the current Suzuki Swift platform, the Sport version is a sort of a beefed-up Swift. Major exterior highlights of the Suzuki Swift Sport include the quality honeycomb front grille, smoked projector headlights and three symmetrical lines that accentuate the rounded foglights. The extended rear spoller, along with a double-piped sport exhaust system and diffuser reflector at the rear further add details to the Swift Sport’s performance motifs.

As the flagship model of Swift variant, the Swift Sport gets a 1.6 WT powerplant; instead of the regular Swift’s 1.4 displacement engine. The Swift Sport’s engine introduces variable intake and VVT systems that better air intake through higher cylinder charging and exhaust efficiency. The Suzuki Swift Sport’s engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT 7-speed auto gearbox with tiptronic shifters.

Further upgrades have been incorporated into the Suzuki Swift Sport which enable much improved driving dynamics. Additional derivatives like a more sturdy chassis and tauter suspension settings also contribute a good deal to the hot hatch’s performance aspects which derive a maximum output of 136hp and maximum torque at 160Nm @ 6900rpm. The Swift Sport sprints from 0 – 100km/h in 8.7 seconds and consumes a reasonable 6.5l/100km on a combined cycle.

Standard safety features that come with the Suzuki Swift Sport are; ABS, EBD, 6 airbags, and a whole lot more. To date. Suzuki Malaysia has sold more than 1500 units of the regular Suzuki Swift GL and GLX. Suzuki M’sia has reported monthly bookings of some 500 – 600 units. For the Sport version, they are optimistic of one fourth of the numbers of the regular Swifts.

The new Suzuki Swift Sport maintains the price tag of its predecessor at RM 97,888 for manual
transmission and RM 102,888 for CVT automatic. Valid body colors are; Snow White Pearl and Champion Yellow.
