Suzuki Malaysia Automobile (SMA) has announced the Limited Edition Kizashi for the domestic market. The limited-edition Suzuki Kizashi 2.4L Sport comes in Matte Black and is a one-time variant for this country.

Based on the one and only compact/large sedan from Suzuki, the variant has a lukewarm reception in this country due to its limited number made available by SMA and the focus on more important compact variants such as the Swift and SX4. had run the Kizashi a long while ago, back in July 2012, and we thought that this sporty sedan was simply the answer Suzuki (SMA) needed to put themselves back in the game. We also thought that the ‘Way of Life’ was way better with the Kizashi…

Suzuki Malaysia Automobile takes a second look at Kizashi with the limited-edition version

Fast forward to this year, SMA has probably decided to put some attention on Kizashi since the Swift and SX4 are already somewhat well received by the people. The 2014 Suzuki Kizashi gets a thorough make-over from the sporty form to lots of refined touches inside and out. At the front, the “hawk” headlights remains with the elongated black meshed grille for a supposedly standout bumper. Suzuki has added silver matte trimmings to the edges of the foglights. The side has a flowing silhouette, plus a chrome panel at the bottom of the doors to add to a sportier profile. From the rear, the duck-tailed spoiler pairs well with the curved-up boot lid and rear combination lights. A pair of chromed rectangle-shaped exhausts give the Kizashi lots of character at the rear. Lastly, the upgraded Sport variant comes with 18-inch wheels, with 235/45 SR 18 tyres, unless otherwise noted.

Inside, the limited-edition touch comes in the form of a new In Car Entertainment (ICE) system made up of a 2-Din Audio System with a 7-inch touch screen that provides navigation, an reverse camera with night mode and connects your regular Bluetooth, Hands-free devices. Overall, the interior remains true to the original Kizashi sport  version.

The Limited-edition Kizashi is powered by an able 2.4 liter DOHC inline-four petrol engine that gives up to 178PS and 230Nm of torque. As a driver friendly car, the Kizashi retains the 5-speed CVT transmission with paddle shifters; in case it is needed for extra fun driving.

When it comes to safety features, the 2014 Kizashi is equipped with a host of active safety standard equipment, including ABS (Anti-lock braking system), EBD (Electronic Braking force Distribution), SRS airbags and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with traction control. Plenty of these features were inherited from its predecessor.
