|The Citroen C4 is due for an all-important update after an approximately three=year lifespan. Indeed, the French marque has announced an updated Citroen C4 in its recognizable compact hatchback form with a refreshed all-round design, inside and out.|
A more elegant all-round appeal to the 2015 Citroen C4
At a glance, the 2015 C4 features chrome chevrons that connect the headlights, as well as the ribbed bonnet which curves to the sides. The new light signature, including LED headlights and 3-D rearlights, gives a more impressionable front- and rear-end. Touches to the front and rear bumpers with weather strips further improve the motifs of the C4. The rear-end now has a wider tailgate, thanks to the 3-D rear lights. Finishing off the overall look are 17-inch Miami alloy wheels for that premium appearance. In dimensions, the C4 retains measurements of its predecessor at a length of 4.33m, width of 1.79m, height of 1.49m and wheelbase of 2.61m. At the same time, the hatchback’s boot space sustains a capacity of 408 liters; which is largest in its category.
The interior of the C4 carries plenty of updates as well, such as; the uncluttered dashboard with a new 7-inch touchscreen, soft leather on the dashboard, jersey on the roof, and chrome fillings for the steering controls, air vents and gear lever. Even, the upholstery get new trims in either Black/Grey Rayados cloth or Grey Liberal cloth combination. A driver’s massaging seat with lumbar support is added as an option.
The inside of the C4 is further accentuated by the windscreen with an angle of 27 degrees visibility and large panoramic sunroof. Better sound proof materials, barrier seals and absorbers in the engine compartment ensure a much improved acoustic in the cabin. For entertainment, the C4 is decked with a high-grade Denon hi-fi audio system with digital amplifier, rear tweets, subwoofers and sound spatialization technology.
A new range of PureTech 3-cylinder engines are made available for the 2015 C4, namely the PureTech 110 manual and PureTech 130 S&S manual. The two new platforms are thus added to the existing PureTech 130 S&S 6-speed manual turbocharged option. Output for the PureTech 110 manual gearbox engine is expected to deliver 110hp at 5,500rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. With the BlueHDi 100 and 120 diesel engines, paired six-speed manual transmission, power is expected at 99 hp and 120 hp and torque range of 254 – 300 Nm.
The 2015 Citroen C4 has upgraded suspension, featuring McPherson front struts, with a flexible transverse beam at the rear. This combination gives the C4 exemplary body roll control and more effective measures in evasive or emergency manoeuvres.
Major safety highlights for the C4 include EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), EBA (Emergency Braking Assistance) and Intelligent Traction Control with ESP.
Two new hues for the 2015 Citroen C4
The 2015 C4 range is available in a choice of nine colors, of which two are new: Platinum Grey and Spirit Grey. Roll-out is expected for Europe, then the rest of the regions.
