2016 Nissan_NP300_Navara_8 Nissan Malaysia (Edaran Tan Chong Motor) has announced the imminent arrival of the 2016 Nissan Navara NP300 in the month of November. Debut in Thailand late last year, Nissan’s best-selling pick up has rolled out in several Asian countries and Australia through the year and most recently, the Navara was actually showcased at the IAA Frankfurt.

The 12th-generation Navara comes from a long line of Nissan pickup heritage, now into its 80th year. The variant has sold approximately 14 million units in 180 countries, since it came about. Now, the Navara scales greater heights with its new design, comfort and convenience package and trendy add-ons. It is still considered the go-to pick up for work, leisure and every conceivable activities.

From its frontal impressions, Nissan’s design DNA is as distinctive as ever. A first-in-class, full LED headlight with boomerang-shaped DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) frames the signature ‘V-motion’ grille; further emphasizing the Navara’s unmistakable aesthetics. A spoiler is added for good measures and present some form of dynamism to the pick up’s motif.

Comfort is key for the top selling Nissan pickup, and the NP300 Navara takes its cue from the marque’s other variants. Check out the “Zero Gravity Inspired” seats, which provide spinal support for the driver and front passenger. Additionally, there are double-zone air-conditioning and rear a/c for more effective cooling in the cabin, plus a whole lot more amenities (further details when the pick up debuts in due time).

On the powerplant, the 2016 Navara takes up an improved version of a 2.5L Diesel YD25 engine for a optimum output of 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. Nissan claims the figures make the Navara, the most powerful pick up in its segment. Together with a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode (another first in class), the 2016 Navara is all business and even go easy on fuel consumption.

One new thing about the Navara, it is the first Japanese pick up to include a multi-link rear suspension. This means extra ride comfort, improved handling and stability; even at full load.
