Introduced recently, the 2017 Honda Jazz Petrol has received over 1,300 units in bookings. The figure incidentally exceeded its launch sales target of 1,200 units.

As already published, the 2017 Jazz line-up consisted the Jazz Hybrid and the three variants of the Jazz Petrol; Jazz E, Jazz V and Jazz S. The Jazz E variant received the highest number of booking which is close to 40% from the total bookings collected, while the V variant is at 32% and S variant at 28%. The highest numbers of bookings were collected in Klang Valley region at 42% from the total number of bookings received. Other regions also recorded an impressive booking collection namely the Southern region with 21% of total bookings, Northern region with 18% of total bookings and both East Coast and East Malaysia recorded 13% and 6% of total bookings, respectively. The top color choice for the Jazz petrol is the Modern Steel Metallic, followed by Lunar Silver Metallic.

The Jazz Hybrid, on the other hand, got an encouraging response from domestic buyers, but not to the amount comparable to the petrol version. As the only hybrid model to be priced under RM90,000, it is not difficult to guess why. Malaysia is the first country outside of Japan to receive the Jazz Hybrid. Delivery of the Jazz Hybrid to customers is slated for the end of July. Obviously, Honda Malaysia has a duty to ensure shorter delivery times to customers. In Japan, the Jazz Hybrid has tallied some 660,000 units, making it the most popular hybrid model over there.

The Jazz Hybrid is powered by a new 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine combining 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) with Integrated High Power Motor to deliver excellent acceleration for a sportier driving experience. The Hybrid System’s Lithium-Ion battery produces 1.5 times its energy capacity, making it 50% more powerful while being more compact in size compared to its predecessor, the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system.

The petrol version. powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC engine with CVT, is a more down-to-earth vehicle, but offers a fun driving experience and a bit of a fuel efficient factor. Enhanced with chrome front grille, front and rear bumpers, push-start with smart entry and and ECON switch, it is clear why the Jazz petrol gets such an extraordinary response from buyers. On top of that, the car has dual-tone wheels (V variant) and LED DRLs and reverse camera (E and V variants). The Jazz V variant has paddle shifts, cruise control and leather seats. Not to be left behind, the Jazz E and V variants take up a 6.8-inch display audio, with the Jazz E getting an additional upgrade to Touch-panel auto a/c.

Both the Jazz Petrol and Hybrid retain its most recognizable feature, the ULTRA seats. The Ultra seats’ versatility comprises 4 modes (Utility, Long, Tall and Refresh) to provide occupants with the convenience for space maximization without compromising comfort.

Finally, the safety and assistance system aspects of the 2017 Jazz range is not to be overlooked with features such as Brake Assist (BA), ABS, 4 – 6 airbags, VSA, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
