Although the Nissan Juke isn’t available in the country, the Juke has been an important urban Sport Cross model for Nissan in North American market. Nissan has thus came up with the Juke Black Pearl Edition, fresh for 2017. The Black Pearl edition is limited to just 1,250 production units for the U.S. and Canada only.

The Nissan Juke Black Pearl carries a combination of Super Black and Pearl White exterior accents. And, it adds a surprisingly bold appearance to a vehicle that, since introduction, has had a style and personality most accurately described as “extroverted.”

Starting with a well-equipped JUKE SV (with a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive), the Black Pearl Edition provides aftermarket style personalization straight from the factory. It is the third such vehicle created by the Juke Color Studio, following the previous “Yellow Stinger” and “Black Stinger” editions.

The modifications to the Black Pearl Edition exterior begin up front with white bumper accents and white outside trim rings on the distinctive headlights. On the sides, white door handles and white caps for the heated outside rearview mirrors continue the theme, leading into the white rear spoiler and white accents on the rear bumper. A special Black Pearl Edition badge completes the exterior enhancements.

Exclusive Super Black-painted 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels mounted with 215/55R17 tyres complement the Juke high stance and sporty driving position.

Inside, the Black Pearl Edition includes black cloth heated front seats with white inserts and stitching, white and black cloth door trim inserts and white power window switch finishers. The signature motorcycle-style center console is painted white, while the steering wheel features white stitching. Completing the high-contrast interior appearance are white air vent trim rings and white accents on the shift knob.

In addition, the combination of the fold-down 60/40-split bench seat and flat load floor provides passenger and cargo hauling flexibility. Standard conveniences include RearView Monitor, Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, USB connection port, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, 5.0-inch color display, Streaming audio via Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant.

Like all 2017 Juke models, the Black Pearl Edition features a 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIGÔ) Turbo, 16-valve DOHC aluminum-alloy inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 188 hp. One transmission is offered for the Juke Black Pearl, Nissan’s advanced Xtronic transmission with Manual Mode and D-step Logic Control that simulates shifts, giving a natural acceleration feeling without holding a high rpm constant.

The Juke Black Pearl features a standard independent MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension, while Juke AWD models offer a multi-link rear suspension design. Also standard is vehicle-speed-sensing electric power-assisted steering. Braking is supplied by power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS with EBD and Brake Assist.

Safety features included comprise of Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt and occupant classification sensors, and a multitude of all-round airbags. Other standard equipment includes LATCH (ISOFIX) system, Vehicle Immobilizer System, Vehicle Security System (VSS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS).

In addition to the Juke SV Black Pearl Edition, the 2017 Juke sport cross is offered in a range of five exciting variants: S, SV, SL, NISMO and NISMO RS. The Juke Black Pearl has a package price of USD 1,190.
