2017 Toyota Hilux Limited Edition announced

UMW Toyota Motor today announced the availability of the Limited Edition Toyota Hilux 2.4G AT. The limited edition variant, which now open for booking is priced at RM126,000, has a tougher and more rugged image with a number of updated Toyota Genuine Accessories. Alongside, the limited edition pick-up, the company introduced the 2017 Hilux 2.4G STD (manual and automatic variants) with a lower price, starting at just RM108,500.

The newly-added Toyota Genuine Accessories for the Hilux limited edition include a new grille and black-mesh grille on the lower bumper to give the pick-up a more menacing outlook. The two black stripes on the hood further exemplify that “Menace look” demeanor. The side of the Hilux gets extra sturdy steppers in black that acts like side skirt, along with the unique graphics on the lower portion of the doors. At the rear, the stripes are positioned just below the third brake light and tailgate lift to pair with the black-garnish bumper guard. From a bird’s eye view, the roof now comes in an all-black carbon fiber-like trimming.

Inside, the 2017 Hilux takes up SUV levels of refinement and equipment. The horizontal emphasis of the clean, uncluttered dashboard design incorporates cross fin-type air vents with rotary dial adjustment. At the same time, the center console is dominated by the integration of a tablet-like seven-inch touch-screen multimedia system. Meantime, the driver’s instrument cluster displays the speed and tacho, as well as houses a full-color 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display. Other interior highlights include metallic coated ornamentation on the dashboard, door trim, leather-wrapped steering, gear lever bezel and ambient lighting.

Engine options for the Hilux include 2.4-liter and 2.8-liter variations; both are paired to a six-speed transmission with ATRC.

Since the Hilux’s launch in May 2016, the new generation Toyota Hilux has sold around 18,000 units nationwide. The Hilux model has maintained its popularity with over 200,000 units of the outgoing generation sold throughout the country since first came about in 2005.

Like the other Hilux variants, the limited edition is also covered with a 5-year/150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first which is transferable to the next owner if it is still valid at the time of ownership transfer.
