Honda Malaysia is set to unveil the 5th-generation CR-V equipped with a 1.5 VTEC Turbo engine, for the first time, and Honda SENSING suite.

Since its debut in 1995, the Honda CR-V has been one of the more popular models for the Brand in the SUV segment. Over 9 million CR-Vs have been sold worldwide in 130 countries around the globe.

With the 2017 Honda CR-V updated with a 1.5 Turbo engine, the SUV’s output has been raised to 193 PS and 243 Nm of torque (preliminary). Developments to enhanced the engine department through improvements made to the efficiency of the air intake, exhaust, valve system cooling and combustion chambers have allowed the engine to offer an fuel consumption of 14.6l/km on a combined cycle.

The 2017 CR-V adopts G-CON technique and Advanced Inner Frame method that features both a rigid and lightweight body, along with the ACE body shell. Utilizing high-tnesion steel, the CR-V chassis is regarded as the most well structured, toughest yet.

The 2017 CR-V comes equipped with Honda SENSING suite of assistance systems and up to 23 active and passive safety features. The list of Honda SENSING assistance systems comprise Adaptive Cruise Control, Low Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assistance system, Collision Mitigation Braking system, Forward Collision warning, Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Departure warning. Part of the CR-V’s 23 active and passive safety features include VSA, Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering, Hill Start Assist, Brake Override system, EBD, TPMS and Brake assist.

In its appearance, the 2017 CR-V takes up Wing-Array LED headlights, linear realights and DRLs to give the SUV a more aggresive outlook. Depending on grades, the CR-V will be offered with Smart Entry system and a Push Start switch, along with Walk-Away locking function.

Inside, the cabin is based on the MM Concept: Maximized Cabin and Minimized Technical. Additionally, the CR-V has a new 7-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, for the first time, powered tailgate and more.

The equipment and specification lists are preliminary until officially announced by Honda Malaysia on its designated launch date, 12 July.
