After a year’s delay, Naza Quest has finally unveiled the all-new Chevrolet Malibu LTZ Sedan for the domestic markets. The Chevrolet Malibu makes for the six variant to be distributed by official Chevrolet distributors in the country. The current and existing variants available at Naza Quest include the Captiva, Cruze, Colorado, Sonic and Orlando variants.

The Chevrolet Malibu is touted as a Chevy Camaro look-alike, especially from the rear, but the D-segment has its own unique prepositions and large sedan attributes. To start things off, the car has a larger-than-life exterior, thanks to its expanded dimensions: 4,865 mm in length, 1,855 mm width and a long 2,737 mm wheelbase.

The all-new Chevrolet Malibu draws sentiments from Bumblebee Camaro

Inspired by the Camaro, the Malibu is made to turn heads, starting with its dual port grille and HID headlights. The headlights come with auto-levelling and washers. To implement a more aerodynamically savvy exterior, the Malibu has a flowing shape that curves around the bodysides. Sculpted lines, a purposeful turn signal mirror and low sloping silhouette further define the side profile of the Malibu. From the rear, the contours around the compact bootlid and high bumper are put in place to supposedly improve airflow around the car. At the same time, those squarish rearlights with the LED bulbs  give the Malibu that Camaro Coupe (Bumblebee) effect.

In its quest to be Luxurious, the new Chevolet Malibu takes on a contemporary interior with a new dual cockpit made up of premium materials. Taking center stage on the dashboard is the MyLink entertainment system with reverse camera integration. Your regular keyless entry with push-start, 7-inch touch screen, 6-speaker system, USB port, and even a remote engine start and TPMS (type pressure monitoring system) are on the cards. On the instrument cluster, the Malibu inherits the Sonic’s ice-blue ambient lighting, while welcome, tunnel detection and follow-me-home lights are included as posterity items. Boot space has a large enough capacity to fit 462 liters.

A normally-aspirated 2.4-liter DCVCP (Dual Continuous Variable Cam Phasing) Ecotec engine propels the large Chevy sedan to a decent 165hp at 5,800rpm and 225Nm @ 4,600 rpm. Sending the Ecotec engine’s output to the front wheels is the new six-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode.

Safety is of the utmost priority with the Malibu. The large sedan comes with dual front airbags & side airbags, and a host of  active safety features such as; ABS (Antilock Brake System), StabiliTrak Electronic Stability control System with Brake Assist and EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution).  Additionally, a 5-star NCAP rating has been earned, courtesy of the 65-percent high-strength steel structure, which complies to Pedestrian Protection the world over.
