|The Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010 (KLIMS) has confirmed the Ambank Group as the official Bank for the much anticipated Automotive exhibition to be held from 3 – 12 December at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Malaysia’s capital city. KLIMS ’10 is the 7th edition and denotes the Malaysian Automotive Association’s (MAA) 50th anniversary as the governing body of the country’s Auto industry.|
Car enthusiasts and motor heads can expect a whole lot more than the previous KLIMS edition which was held back in 2006; a host of manufacturers and car distributors, concept cars, supercars, car accessories, car care products and performance parts are just several main draws.
The addition of the Ambank Group as the Official Bank of KLIMS ’10 is a crucial move to serve an expected 330,000 turnout during the entire ten days duration of the Motor Show. At the signing ceremony held at Ambank Group headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today, Datuk Mohamed Azmi Mahmood, Managing Director of Ambank Berhad’s Retail Banking, and Datuk Aishah Ahmad, Chairman of the KLIMS ’10 and President of MAA, sealed the partnership agreement to recognize Ambank as the Official Bank.
In her speech to highlight the partnership, Datuk Aishah commented, “With an improved overall economy, the automotive industry has also improved by a healthy margin from 2009 to mid-2010 and the KLIMS ’10 should see to a successful conclusion for the industry for the year.”
“We are very delighted to have Ambank Group as our Official Bank and will be anticipating many interesting activities and special auto programs from Ambank just for the KLIMS ’10 visitors,” she added.
Ambank’s partnership with KLIMS ’10 is a reflection of its strong commitment to serve Malaysian motorists and auto enthusiasts, many of whom are customers of its hire purchase services and its autocard. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Ambank Cards will be introducing a limited edition CARz card to mark its status as the official card of KLIMS ’10. Collectible prepaid cards will be distributed to 5,000 KLIMS ’10 visitors as well during the 10-day event.
In addition, Ambank Cards will fund discounts on 2,000 tickets offered to members of the public. Available in Credit or prepaid cards, the CARz cards provide 5% cash rebate on all petrol brands, and not to mentioned, preferred pricing on auto parts and services, 0% installment plan for insurance and road tax and Auto-skewed rewards programs. Additional benefits are also available for CARz cards members at the show. For those who purchase a vehicle at the show through the Ambank Auto-Finance, a premium GPS could be yours for only RM299 based on approved loans only. Furthermore, current Ambank customers will automatically get 10% discount on KLIMS ’10 tickets.
On the prospective recovery of the Automotive industry for the current fiscal year, Datuk Aishah reported that the MAA has revised its annual automotive sales forecast since the start of 2010 to 570,000 units. The amount accounts for a healthy 17% precent growth based on the total number of cars sold from the first quarter to second quarter.
This year’s KLIMS ’10 encompasses 30,000 square-feet exhibition area at the PWTC which will include some 200 exhibitors from the automotive industry’s finest brands and companies.
