For its all-important U.S. market, Kia didn’t spare a penny to bring out its best for the LA Auto Show. The two Kia Seltos concepts, New Seltos and Niro Hybrid were presented at the ongoing LA Auto show.

First of the highlights are the New Seltos X-Line Trail Attack and Seltos X-Line Urban Concepts. The Seltos X-Line has custom two-tone paint scheme to evoke a stirring desert sunset and eight ultra-bright Hella auxiliary lights mounted on the front bumper and roof. The off-roader is equipped with electronic AWD, center differential lock and custom 2-inch lift kit. In addition, it has custom painted alloy 17-inch wheels and a hidden winch behind the front valance, as well as a custom fabricated roof rack. This off-roader holds a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired to a 7-speed dual clutch, that produces 175 hp.

The X-Line Urban version is less rugged but inspired by the imposing glass and steel skyscrapers of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The SUV’s custom slate gray paint scheme is highlighted by a gloss-black roof panel, to go with the four high-powered Hella aux lights. Again, a custom fabricated roof rack is fitted here. The major highlight Inside is a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation.

Kia Niro Hybrid: An update for one of America’s favorite SUVs

Primarily for the American market, the Niro Hybrid has been upgraded for the year. The upgrades include new projector-type headlights and fog lights, a new diamond-pattern grille and dual chevron-shaped LED daytime running lights. The rear faux skid plate is wider and more pronounced, while the LED combination lights are new. Finishing off, they fitted new 16-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, there’s a re-styled 7-inch instrument cluster with improved drive mode graphics and 8-inch standard touchscreen display, or optional navigation with a 10.25-inch screen and Harman/Kardon premium audio system.

More interior options include paddle shifters, active regenerative braking control, electronic parking brake and mood lighting with six different colors.

Things are similar almost entirely, except for the Kia Drive Wise advanced driver assistance systems’ new Lane Following & Lane Keeping Assist and High Beam Assist features. The Niro is also available with a plug-in hybrid version, too .
