The redesigned four-door Rapide S, one of the very few 4-door variants in the Aston Martin range, takes up a new V12 powerplant that is able to produce 550bhp. Balanced, strikingly beautiful, this four-door sports is certain to impress even the most ardent Supercars pundits. The Rapide S’ front fascia features a more assertive ‘face’ which is presented by virtue of a full-faced grille. At the side, the sweeping silhouette obviously for better aerodynamics provides relevant aesthetic values and upgrades to reinforce the sporting nature of the Rapide S. From the rear, a new rear deck profile houses a more pronounced boot lid ‘flip’.

Under the hood, the AM11 naturally-aspirated 6.0-liter V12 powerplant charges to 550 bhp at 6,750 rpm, possibly limited, and a serious 620 Nm at 5,500rpm of torque. The Rapide S’ power output and torque figures are up 17 percent or 80 hp and 20 Nm respectively from the previous edition. Naturally, increases in power and torque lead to even swifter performance as befits a four-door sports car. The Rapide S shaves 0.4 seconds off its 0 – 100 kph time, which drops from the 5.1 seconds of the current car to just 4.7 seconds for the new edition. Top speed climbs, meanwhile, to 190 mph (305 kph).

In the U.S., the Aston Martin Rapide S retails from $199,950. More details of the Aston Martin Rapide S when it arrives here…
