|The Audi A8 gets a timely update on the exterior, interior and is presented in more engine ranges than ever. A large sedan with lightweight construction, the A8’s body is made almost entirely of aluminium and based on the Audi Space Frame (ASF).|
In dimensions, the Audi A8 measures 5.14 meters in length, 1.95 meters in width and 1.46 meters in height; unchanged from the previous edition. The large sedan’s wheelbase stands at 2.99 meters and curb weight takes up 1.8 tons, considerably light for a large sedan thanks to the 231 kg ASF. The A8 L, however, gains 13 cm in length and wheelbase.
A8 bears the testament of an Audi flagship sedan
Bearing all of the four-ring marque’s design trademarks, the updated Audi A8 features more expressive single frame grille, engine hood and front bumper. The LED headlights, another Audi testament, is offered in Matrix LED technology; an optional choice. At the side and rear, the A8 doesn’t change a whole lot, with the exception of chrome strips and high-gloss black window frames and flatter LED rearlights. At the same time, the top-of-the-line S8 incorporates a redesigned bumper and two new exhausts. Wheels and tyre sizes can go up to 21-inch for the updated A8, while body colors have expanded to 12 shades (5 new shades).
Inside, the Audi A8 has the customary ventilated, massage-enabled front seats and individual rear seats (an option), as well as possibly a relaxation seat with power footrest. Important interior highlights include four-zone automatic air conditioning, MMI control element on the tunnel’s center console with navigation, and plenty cabin refinements consisting materials such as; sycamore gray/marble gray, fine grain poplar brown-silver, fine grain ash brown-gold natural and leather Unikat.
A mixture of petrol and diesel powerplants that are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission become available for the Audi A8, either the standard 3.0l, 4.2l, the V8 twin-turbo, (A8 L) 6.3 FSI, 3.0l TDI and 4.2 TDI. There’s also a 2.0 TFSI hybrid version. For speedy stats, the 3.0l takes it up to 310 hp and 4.0 twin-turbo powers up to 435 hp. The 3.0l diesel A8 gives an output of 258 hp, while the 4.2 TDI pushes it up to 385 hp and a whopping 850 Nm of torque!
Audi A8 is scheduled to arrive at German dealerships in November. Despite the upgraded trim level (standard LED headlights in all V8 models) and the powerful engines, prices are changing only slightly. Prices in Germany for the flagship A8 start at 74,500 euros.
