|Audi Malaysia has just announced the first ever S Performance version of its popular Coupe, the Audi TTS. The Audi TTS has now arrived on the scene, after almost 12 months since the unveiling of the Audi TT.|
The Audi TTS shares the base of the TT to the core, but with the expected enhancements to push the boundaries of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’. Starting from the front, LED headlights with LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and all-weather lights as standard ensure the new Audi TTS makes an impactful arrival at any time of day.
To distinguish itself from the conventional TT coupé, the Audi TTS sports a number of unique design features besides the TTS badging, including TTS-specific radiator grille with aluminium design, TTS-specific front and rear bumper with diffuser, aerodynamic side sills, aluminium-look exterior mirrors and sporty four oval tailpipes underlining its enhanced athletic capabilities. From the rear, there’s an automatic rear spoiler that deploys at speeds above 120km/h. The TTS Coupe’s imposing stance is further emphasized by the TTS-exclusive 19-inch forged aluminium wheels.
Moving to the inside, the Audi TTS is presented with a host of interior highlights from the distinctive air-conditioning vents, 12.3-inch touchscreen with MMI navigation plus and MMI Touch to the S sport leather seats and the Bang & Olufsen sound system (14-channel amp with 12 speakers, 680w).
At the heart of the Audi TTS is Audi’s award-winning 2.0 liter TFSI engine that incorporates a 4-cylinder in-line petrol engine with direct fuel injection, exhaust gas turbocharging and Audi valvelift system as well as a 6-speed S tronic transmission that allow the new Audi TTS to develop a maximum output of 286 hp and a maximum torque of 380 Nm between a range of 1,800 and 5,200 rpm. Thanks to reinforced aluminium pistons, connecting rods, bearings and crankcases, and a huge turbocharger with intercooler that boosts up to 1.2 bar, the TTS Coupe is all business when it comes to performance on regular roads or the track. Top speed and century sprint are rated 250 km/h an 4.7 seconds, 1.2 secs up from the regular TT. Despite the upbeat numbers, fuel consumption and emissions are kept honest at 6.9 liters/100km and 159 g/km. Coupled with Audi drive select dynamic driving system, the TTS Coupe offers up to five drive modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual.
Safety features list comprises of the Parking Aid + with selective display, Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) with Traction Control (ASR), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), six airbags and more.
Audi Malaysia has started distributing the TTS Coupe at a price tag of RM389,900 in eleven color options: Glacier White, Scuba Blue, Tango Red, Floret Silver, Monsoon Grey, Nano Grey, Brilliant Black, Mythos Black and Daytona Grey with pearl effect, along with TTS-exclusive colors, Vegas Yellow and Sepang Blue with pearl effect.
