Audi Q3 Sportback: Sportier than ever

Audi Q3 Sportback now has a more muscular body and sporty look as an essential update for the year. The four-ring marque’s compact SUV Sportback version is longer than the standard Q3, attributed to its coupe-like silhouette.

Marking the unique Sportback features are the strong contours, low window with aero trims and a sporty bumper. Width is expanded thanks to the bumper and air inlets positioning.

The front-end highlights are the black singleframe grille, trapezoidal air inlets and bumper with flat blade. The profile is of course  coupé-like with  a contrast to the distinctive attachments, which are painted in contrasting colors. This highlights the SUV’s character. Meantime, the low roofline gives way to flat D-pillars and ends in a roof edge spoiler.  Headlights are LED Matrix, while the rearlights have a tapered and uniquely designed presentation.

On to the interior, the Audi Q3 Sportback has a good-sized cabin and variable interior. The rear seats offer space for three people. The back seats are adjustable and when folded down, boot space goes from 530 liters  to 1,400 l. The front seats are electrically adjustable and offer a sporty position with emphasis on comfort. Depending on the equipment, there are sport seats with contrasting stitching and colored stripes along the side panels.

An Audi wouldn’t be an Audi without the included  Infotainment with Audi Connect, MMI and multimedia enjoyment on a 12.3 inch virtual cockpit.

At its initial introduction in Europe, the Q3 Sportback is offered with a 2.0 TFSI petrol and a Q3 35 TDI  diesel, with a max output of up to 230 hp. An automatic transmission S tronic with quattro drive comes standard, later a manual transmission will join in. Later, diesel and mild hybrid versions are expected to come in as well.

Audis are simply smartly tagged with plenty of safety and assistance systems. With the Q3 Sportback, standard systems are used for safety include lane departure warning, lane change warning and adaptive cruise assist (optional), just to name a few.

At a later date, the Audi Q3 Sportback will be offered in ‘edition dew silver’ and ‘edition mythos black’.  In both exclusive editions, the exterior is based on the S line and the black styling package. Dark decorative panels in the matrix LED headlights and 20-inch wheels make for an even sportier look. The interior features a silver edition model with the noble interior design selection and bright colors, while the black model is based on the dark interior S line, supplemented by blue Alcantara areas on the instrument panel and the armrests in the doors.

Price for the Q3 Sportback 35 TDI is from 40,200 euros, while the 45 TFSI quattro S tronic starts at 46,200 euros.
