Bentley Kuala Lumpur played host to customers and guests alike, last weekend, on a special invitational excursion to the tropical island of Langkawi for the inaugural Bentley Extraordinary Getaway, a one-of-a-kind Bentley experience.

“The Bentley Extraordinary Getaway, which we hope to run biennially, brings together our extraordinary customers, the complete Bentley model lineup and our event partners for a 360 degree brand experience, in addition to the opportunity to experience the new Bentayga first-hand,” commented Jerry Lee, Brand Director & General Manager for Bentley Kuala Lumpur.
Along with exclusive test drives of members of the Bentayga, Continental and Flying Spur families, guests will enjoy a round of golf at the award-wining Els Club Teluk Datai and a luxury cruise on a Princess Yacht before returning to the Datai Langkawi resort for a champagne reception and exquisite culinary delights.

“The event is a good lead up to the market introduction of Bentayga in Malaysia in conjunction with the official launch of our new retail facility at Etiqa Twins featuring the latest Bentley Corporate Identity” Lee added.

Dave Maddock, a master of wood veneers from the home of Bentley in Crewe, has flown in especially for the event to give Bentley owners and the media a flavour of the hand-craftsmanship that goes into every Bentley.

“The demonstration takes customers through the process of where and how Bentley veneer is sourced, and a step by step explanation of the processes within the Bentley Woodshop, with examples of each of the stages,” Maddock explained. “There will then be a small demonstration of how Bentley veneer is finished, offering the opportunity for customers to try some of the skills involved for themselves.”

Maddock has over 40 years’ experience at Bentley, and is very often asked about older Bentleys that guests may have, in many cases he has personal knowledge of a particular car that they own.
