Bentley Kuala Lumpur has announced the relocation of its primary headquarters at the Pavilion KL to Etiqa Twins at Jalan Pinang in the heart of the Capital City, in a latest release. The existing headquarters at Pavilion KL will cease operations from 12 August. With the new headquarters, Bentley Kuala Lumpur will officially fall under the stewardship of Wearnes Automotive Group.
The new Bentley KL headquarters, which is targeted for October unveiling, will herald a new chapter for the Luxury marque in the country. After the relocation, Bentley Kuala Lumpur is set to unveil the all-new Bentayga, Bentley’s one and only SUV. Following the Bentayga’s South Asia introduction in Singapore, Malaysia becomes the second country in the region to introduce Bentley’s brand new SUV.
Bentley KL was established in 2009 under the ownership of Meridian Magic, the official importer of Bentley Motorcars in the country. Over the 8-year tenure, the Luxury marque unveiled a series of new models for Malaysian luxury car buyer and built up quite a reputation amongst the high-profile society. “The (Bentley) Gallery has been our home for the past 8 glorious years” said Andrew Wong, Marketing & Communications Manager, Bentley Kuala Lumpur. “When Pavilion (Kuala Lumpur) informed us of their future plans for Lot 2.68, we saw the opportunity to refresh our Bentley showroom in preparation for the arrival of the new Bentley SUV.”
“Bentayga is a Bentley unlike any other and a definite game changer for us,” Wong continued, “seventy percent of our Bentayga customers are completely new to Bentley so it makes perfect sense for us to introduce this exciting model in an all-new environment, despite the temporary interruption in operations. The striking new showroom design will be bold and communicate Bentley’s brand values clearly, incorporating traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary space.”
The progressive moving in process to Etiqa Twins is scheduled to start in September, with its official opening planned for October 2016. The opening ceremony will see the introduction of Bentayga together with the limited edition GT Black Speed by Mulliner.
Bentley Bentayga SUV
The Bentayga’s styling is pure Bentley. Sculptural with an elegant, timeless execution, it perfectly balances athleticism with confidence. From the four round LED headlights and large matrix grille, to the distinctive power line and muscular haunches, the Bentley DNA is apparent throughout.
Bentayga’s wheel arches, fenders and bonnet deliver a balance between sportiness and SUV presence. The ultra-sharp Bentley power line and muscular rear haunch display a taut tension in side profile, as part of the largest single-piece aluminium pressing in the automotive world. Trademark Bentley features such as the large matrix grille and B-shaped wing vents afford the Bentayga a modern, dynamic elegance. The grille is flanked by four distinctive floating all-LED headlights, which are housed within the seamless superformed aluminium front fenders. There are the discreet headlight washers contained within the outer light’s body-colored center, further illustrating the marque’s attention to details. From the rear, within the segmented lights, a new ‘B’-shaped illumination graphic is incorporated that affords the Bentayga an instantly recognizable and striking night-time signature. Finally, the Bentley SUV takes on wheel sizes ranging from 20- to 22-inch.
Step inside the new Bentayga and you find the finest automotive interior in the world, with handcrafted wood and leather throughout. The dashboard takes the iconic Bentley ‘wing’ design as its inspiration, with the beautifully finished surfaces flowing gracefully from door to door over the top of the instrument binnacles, down under the center console and back up around the passenger side fascia and foot well. Interior highlights include hand-selected veneers, dashboard with polished and handcrafted with metal elements, Bentley’s trademark knurling on gearknob and featured elements, 22-way adjustable front seats with massage system, 18-way adjustable rear seats with massage functions and footrests, rear console box for small items, and a hands-free tailgate.
A new twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine is at the heart of the new Bentayga. The mighty 12-cylinder unit combines efficiency and refinement with ultra-luxurious levels of power and torque. With 608 PS (600 bhp / 447kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb. ft) delivering a 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 301 km/h.
