2014 AFF Suzuki Cup Convoy flag off Suzuki Malaysia recently held a major Convoy for owners and children to the AFF Suzuki Cup Finals between Malaysia and Thailand at the Bukit Jalil Stadium. Suzuki has been the proud Title sponsor of the AFF Suzuki Cup, the prominent football tournament in South East Asia, since 2008.

As many as 50 Suzuki cars from across the nation partaked in the special convoy from Suzuki’s Setia Gemilang 3S Center in Shah Alam to the Bkt. Jalil stadium. The colorful convoy of various Suzuki cars were flagged off from Setia Gemilang Auto by Suzuki Malaysia’s Managing Director Keiichi Suzuki and immediately drew lots of attention when the cars hit the freeways. Plenty of the Suzuki owners were big fans of the national squad and eager to support the team in the finals against their bitter rival. “We organized this AFF Suzuki Cup Convoy 2014 and accompanying activities as a means of showing our gratitude and appreciation for the strong support we have received from our loyal customers,” Suzuki commented. “They get to cherish and share a memorable experience together against the backdrop of a patriotic and electrifying atmosphere of a cup final match involving the Malaysian national football team. The customers’ enthusiasm and patriotism mirrored the true Suzuki spirit.”

Upon reaching the stadium, Suzuki customers and enthusiasts were treated to fun and games at the Suzuki booth. There were plenty of activities to keep them entertained before the kick-off, along with performances by Freestylers and Drum Liners.

As part of Suzuki Malaysia’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, 23 children from Sekolah Kebangsaan Sg. Judah in Carey Island, Port Klang were driven to the stadium to cheer on the national squad. Best of all, they got to walk out onto the pitch with the players from both teams, prior to kick-off.

After the intense finals, Suzuki-san presented the MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award to Chanathip Songkrasin of the Suzuki Cup winning Thailand squad. In post-match, the convoy participants indeed looked forward to future activities by Suzuki Malaysia, although their national squad lost the finals.

Suzuki Malaysia has a network of 32 dealerships nationwide and is vying to increase more dealerships in the new year. The company’s Suzuki Mega show is currently ongoing at popular hotspots throughout major States; from now till end of January.
