BMW Malaysia has introduced the new 4 Series Coupe, led by the top flht M4 Coupe, for the domestic market. The BMW 4 series Coupe which premiered in 2014 has the looks that exude dynamism and sheer performance. Three versions are available for the local market: BMW 420i Coupe Sport, 430i Coupe M Sport and M4 Coupe.
Exterior=wise, the 4 Series coupe features a newly designed front and rear section, as well as modified front air inlets and new bi-LED headlights. The rear has a new apron, twin exhaust tailpipes with larger diameter and newly designed all-LED tailights. Completing the package are new 19-inch light alloy rims and a exterior color (Snapper Rocks Blue); an option for the BMW 420i Coupé Sport.
The top flight M4 Coupe takes up M specific exterior mirrors, distinctive M gills and Double tailpipe, along with a BMW Carbon Roof and a Powerdome.
On the inside, the ergonomic cockpit and refined interior evoke sophistication with new ambient lighting, new chrome appliqué trims bedecking the audio and air conditioning systems as well as a new and sturdy sports steering. Other distinctive highlights include the latest-generation (ID6) user interface with six tile icons arranged on two screen pages on the 8.8-inch display and BMW Connected services with Concierge Services capability (only available on the BMW 430i Coupé M Sport).
The M4 version’s interior gets M Sport seats with width-adjustable side bolsters, M leather steering with M Drive buttons, interior trim finishes in carbon fiber and premium chrome appliqué.
When it comes to performance, the Coupe offers four-cylinder engines that are part of the current BMW EfficientDynamics family and excels with immediate throttle response and high power output as well as better fuel efficiency. The BMW 420i Coupé Sport offers 135kW/ 184hp with 270Nm Torque delivery at full acceleration, making the 0-100 km sprint in 7.5 seconds.
The BMW 430i Coupé M Sport offers a 185kW/ 252hp powerplant capable of developing 350Nm of Torque to make acceleration from 0 to 100 km in 5.8 seconds. On the M4 Coupe, a 3.0 liter M TwinPower Turbo in-line six-cylinder engine gives up to 7,300 rpm and a peak torque of 550 Nm from 1,850 – 5,500 rpm.
The BMW 4 Series incorporates an enhanced suspension system, made stiffer for better dynamism while adapting damper settings to retain ride comfort. The BMW 420i Coupé Sport features a standard suspension set up while the BMW 430i Coupé M Sport now offers the addition of Adaptive M Suspension for a more dynamic ride which can be accessed with a more sporty suspension set up via the Driving Experience Control. Coupled with increased steering precision consequent of advanced fine-tuning of the chassis, superb handling is resulted where body roll is reduced, driving characteristics are maintained even when approaching the car’s limits, and elevated directional stability, all realized without compromising the ride comfort known in its predecessor.
In terms of exterior colors, the BMW 420i Coupé Sport is offered in Snapper Rocks Blue, Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver and Melbourne Red. The BMW 430i Coupé M Sport, meanwhile, arrives in Estoril Blue, Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Melbourne Red. Both cars comes with interior color offerings of Leather Dakota Black with Highlight Oyster Black Sports Seats. The M4 Coupe comes in Sakhir Orange, Austin Yellow and Yas Marina Blue body hues with Leather ‘Merino’ with extended contents Black with Black M Sports Seats inside.
The new BMW 420i Coupé Sport is priced at RM 338, 800.00, followed by the 430i Coupe M Sport at RM 408, 800.00 and M4 Coupé at RM 760, 800.00. All inclusive of 5-year warranty and free Scheduled Service program as well as the 2-year tyre warranty.
