2013 BMW Z4 BMW Malaysia has brought forth the refreshed Z4 Roadster in two guises: the BMW Z4 sDrive28i M Sport and Z4 sDrive20i.

Visually, the refreshed Z4 sees minimal changes, although when compared to its predecessor; the 2013 BMW Z4 has longer wheelbase, lower beltline and a low-slung rear-end. The soft top is shelved for the hard top, which opens in 22 seconds at 40km/h and below. Revised LED-infused headlights in 3-D and integrated chrome-colored surrounds turn signal indicators are prominent on the refreshed Z4s.

To spruce up the Z4, the M Sport version takes on M Sport suspension, 18-inch M light-alloy wheels and large air intakes at the front and a ‘Anthracite’ metallic rear bumper.

The BMW Z4 sDrive28i M Sport’s interior is elevated when compared to the SDrive20i and the elevated interior goodies include Sports seats, Aluminium Carbon trim strip, M steering, gear lever knob, driver’s footrest, door sill finishers and anthracite-colored roof liner that bears the M. Standard interior conveniences are BMW ConnectedDrive, an 8.8-inch iDrive monitor, and the Driving Experience Control switch that allows COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+ drive modes.

2013 BMW Z4 powerplant

The engine is the twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter powerplant, mated to an 8-speed auto transmission, for 184 hp and 270 Nm of torque on the Z4 sDrive 20i, and 245 hp and 350 Nm on the Z4 sDrive28i M Sport.

The BMW Z4 sDrive20i achieves 0 – 100km/h in 6.9s whilst the Z4 sDrive28i M does it in 5.5s. Both Z4s consume a total of 6.8 liters per 100 km with emissions amounting to 159 grams per km.

The refreshed BMW Z4s have two new colors: Mineral Grey metallic and Glacier Silver metallic.  The BMW Z4 sDrive20i costs RM359,800 and the Z4 sDrive28i M Sport is RM489,800, both exclude insurance. Optional hardtop in Black non-metallic or Glacier Silver is available at another RM 6,000.
