BMW Malaysia totals 11,567 units for 2019

BMW Malaysia has provided an update on vehicle sales for the 2019 fiscal year. The brands under the company BMW, MINI and Motorrad bikes have totaled 11,567 units. All of last year, the company unveiled 32 new car and bike variants, including electric cars. BMW and MINI EVs combined for 3,148 units sold, last year. Since 2015, the company has tallied approximately 17,000 EV units.

BMW was again the leading brand with the BMW X Series achieving top numbers at 3,985 units. The X3 was the highest contributing model with a delivery of 1,354 units, followed closely by the X1 with 1,331 deliveries. Third best was the X5 xDrive40e with 975 units sold, making it 24 percent of the pie. Behind the X Series was the 3 Series with 2,514 units, of which a thousand units were the 330e M Sport. The BMW 5 Series was another major contributor with 2,000 units to make a grand total of 9,300 new BMW owners in Malaysia in 2019. MINI had a grand total of 1,142 vehicles sold, while Motorrad had 1,125 motorcycles delivered, in all.

Other than sales and what’s up for 2020

Last year marked the third consecutive year BMW Malaysia expanded the infrastructure for electromobility in the country, having introduced 18 new BMW i Charging Facilities across the country. In merely three years, the company has unveiled over 30 BMW i Charging Facilities.

Moving into 2020, BMW Malaysia will continue driving the Story of Visionary Mobility forward; with a clear and continued commitment to drive initiatives for innovation, local assembly capabilties, and awareness on new and clean technology for the automotive industry as well as developing the infrastructure for premium vehicles in the country. More new models are expected across the llne-ups this year, with a range of flexible financing plans by BMW’s financial arm available for buyers,
