All is abuzz about the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the annual Automotive fanfair on everything four wheels. BMW is to take part at this year’s event with the i8, seen for the first time in UK, the BMW M5 30 Jahre (Year) Edition, most powerful BMW production car, the M4 Coupé, and the X4 with M package.

The BMW i8 is the brand’s newest plug-in hybrid sport car that most have caught a glimpse in the movie: Mission Impossible, Ghost Protocol. The BMW i8 with laser headlights uses a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, with a 1.5-liter capacity, in conjunction with an electric motor that takes BMW’s EfficientDynamics philosophy to a new high. Utilizing both power sources enables the sprint from zero to 62 mph to take just 4.4 seconds, going on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. All the while combined fuel consumption stands at 135mpg and CO2 emissions come in at 49g/km.

The BMW M5 30 Jahre Edition: an attraction on its own right at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Next up, BMW has created an exclusive, special-edition of the current, fifth-generation variant boasting performance that sets it apart from its stablemates: the BMW M5 Jahre Edition. The BMW M5 30 Jahre is a limited edition variant; only 300 vehicles are made available around the globe.

Developing 600hp and peak torque of 700Nm, this special-edition (combined fuel consumption 28.5mpg; CO2
emissions: 231g/km) is not only the most powerful BMW M5 ever to emerge from series production under the auspices of BMW M, but also the most powerful production car in the history of the brand. The M5 30 Jahre edition sprints from zero to 62 mph in a lightning fast 3.9 seconds. Its BMW Individual-inspired looks and dynamic and comfort-enhancing equipment make this special edition M5 set to be a highly desirable collector’s item.

The 5th-generation M4 Convertible is one of the major highlights at Goodwood for the Bayerische Motoren Werke company. Powered by the same 431hp M TwinPower Turbo in-line six-cylinder engine as the M3 Saloon and M4 Coupé, the Convertible offers the option of six-speed manual or seven-speed M Double Clutch transmissions.

The first-ever BMW Individual M4 Coupé built for the UK is scheduled for a premiere at Goodwood. Furthermore, the Tanzanite Blue Metallic M4 has a carbon-fiber front splitter, carbon-fiber rear spoiler, carbon-fiber rear diffuser and carbon-fiber wing mirrors. The distinctive look is complemented by the M Performance sports exhaust, with Titanium exhaust trims, and by interior enhancements including an Alcantara steering wheel with race display that matches the Merino leather upholstery to the dot.

Lastly, there’s the new X4 which combines the hallmark features of the BMW X family with the sporting
elegance of a classical coupé. The X4 is BMW’s first Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) for the premium mid-size segment. The premium mid-size crossover is expected to arrive at UK dealerships by mid-July.

BMW Goodwood highlights set for arrival in UK from July

The UK price range for the BMW X4, M4 Covertible, M5 30 Jahre and i8 range from £36,595 (xDrive20d SE) till £99,845 OTR.
