|At onset of the huge Geneva Motor show from 5 March, Merc-Specialist Brabus has announced the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG as a major exhibit for the show. The Mercedes SL 65 is part of Brabus’ 800 Roadster program.|
On the exterior, the Brabus SL 65 is predominantly carbon fiber all around, featuring an aero package that comprises a front spoiler, a hood scoop, fender vents, side skirts, a rear spoiler and diffuser insert. Completing the exterior motifs are Monoblock R Platinum Edition 20″ wheels, with 255/30 ZR front and 305/25 ZR rear tyres.
Inside the Brabus SL 65 AMG again takes on loads of premium + performance elements such as; backlit stainless steel scuff plates. Mastik leather finished with quilted stitching for the seats, not-too-subtle panelling, matching floor covers and lots more.
A V12 6-liter twinturbo powerplant is the result of a conversion from the stock T65 RS engine. At the same time, Brabus added new manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers, four intercoolers, a remapped ECU, stainless steel exhaust with adjustable butterfly valve and high-flow metal catalysts to boost the Super roadster’s output to a whopping 800 hp and 1,420 Nm of torque, from the stock’s 630 hp and 1000 Nm.
With the increased output and torque, the car’s 0 – 100km/h sprint is just 3.7 seconds and top speed pushes up to 200 km/h in 9.8 s. Speaking of top speed, the Brabus SL 65 goes up to a mind-blowing 350 km/h.
The Brabus SL 65 AMG can include the Brabus’ module for the ABC (Active Body Control) suspension which allows a 25 mm drop in ride height and a limited-slip rear differential with a locking rate of 40 percent.
Price of the Brabus SL 65 AMG Roadster has not been released at this point in time.
