In spite of its budget aspirations, the Perodua Bezza Premium X and Advance are well-equipped and quite capable to give other more powerful and more expensive cars a run for the money. To put things into perspective, 94hp to motivate a mere 930kg (sans driver) is roughly equivalent to a 1.5-tonne D-segment sedan with 155hp under the hood!
Hyundai Sime-Darby Motors recently unveiled the new, 3rd generation Hyundai Tucson, featuring the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design direction in line with the rest of the lineup. Two variants are offered, a 2.0 Elegance base variant and a range-topping 2.0 Executive model.
The 2.2 SkyActiv-D turbodiesel engine in the front wheel drive CX-5 and Mazda 6 is a 4-cylinder twin-turbocharged mill that puts out 173PS @ 4,500rpm and 420Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. Both cars come with Mazda’s SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed slushmatic for an effortless drive.

Aside from its dimensional affinities with its forebears, the new MX-5 (codenamed ND) is all new, inside and out. Mechanicals and chassis are all new, sporting the latest developments from Mazda's SKYACTIV platform in keeping in line with the rest of the lineup. The latest SKYACTIV-G 2-liter inline DOHC engine is featured here, in a longitudinal position to drive the rear wheels.
A welcome surprise that Volkswagen Malaysia managed to offer the Vento Highline at such a competitively low price (RM93,888 before insurance) without sacrificing key features usually only found in cars of a higher segment.
Initially released at the start of 2012, the 508SW THP sits in the middle of the 508 lineup, sandwiched between the 508 THP sedan below it and the sprightly 508 GT oil-burning sedan topping off the range. In pre-facelift guise there were a total of 5 variants with 2 range-topping 2.2 HDi FAP turbodiesel GT models, but 2015 saw a consolidation of just 3 models to take the fight to the other D segments in the market, which is quite standard across other marques that have no more than 3 variants in that particular segment. So now there are 2 THP models (sedan and wagon) and a single turbodiesel GT sedan.
As with all new generation Mazdas, the CX-3 also gets the SkyActiv treatment that encompasses the chassis, transmission and power plant. However, unlike its older brethren, the CX-3 makes do with a slightly detuned version of the company’s SkyActiv-G 2.0-
