Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Celebrates 10 Years of Local Production

The Pekan plant in Pahang prides itself as being one of only six such production plants worldwide that manufactures Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles in completely knocked down (CKD) form. Three models of Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles (S-Class, E-Class and C-Class) are proudly produced at the state-of-the-art Pekan plant for local consumption.

Mercedes-Benz CLA 200: Exemplary Driving Dynamics

Mercedes-Benz has had a long history of producing top notch automobiles, a love affair that started at the industrialization of the 20th century in the 1920s that eventually culminated into a world brand, known for its luxurious automobiles and representing Germany’s world famous trio along with BMW and Audi. The CLA-Class is a new breed of vehicle to join the Mercedes-Benz stables, having only been showcased to the world in 2012 as the Concept Style Coupe and eventually into production form in 2013, merely a year on from the unveiling of the concept car. Eager customers took delivery of the CLA-Class in various engine and trim configurations from September 2013, and it took only 6 months for this new compact Merc to reach our shores.

Viking ProTech PT5 tyres: Surprisingly Good Value

Last year, Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia decided to distribute their wholly-owned Norwegian tyre brand, Viking, domestically. Combining Scandinavian flair and German technology, while being acclimatized for this country meant that Viking was poised to be a notable contender for the diverse market here. Manufactured at Continental’s Alor Setar plant using proprietary technology, and priced below Continental’s top flight and Dunlop range, the citizens are finally getting great value for money without the usual quality trade-offs.

2014 Nissan Teana: All-new Refinement

Overall, the new Nissan Teana represents Nissan’s flagship in the country, which it still does with dignity. Kitted to reflect current trends and tastes, the Teana seems poised to remain a serious contender in the executive car segment along the other favorites the Accord and Camry, thus offering again an additional proposition for those who can afford it.

2014 Peugeot 3008 encourages the High Road to Adventure

With lots of new and improved features, it would be almost improper to term the latest 3008 as a facelift, even though it is technically just that. Regardless of whether to call it a facelift or a complete variant change, the new and improved 3008 FL has been updated enough to carry the flag in the compact SUV segment to entice potential buyers with a strong feature set and competitive pricing strategy.

Peugeot 208 GTi: Fun is Back

Nonetheless, the GTi monicker stuck fast into the hearts and minds of motorists since then, and any car with a “GTi” badge had to live up to certain prescribed standards for performance and exhilaration at a pocket friendly price. Enter the Peugeot 208 GTi, the latest imagining of the French hot hatch which is friendly to the pocket as well as the environment, boasting a highly tuned 1.6-liter Twin-scroll turbocharged mill with Direct Injection that picks up the pace with a respectable 275 Nm of torque from a low 1,700rpm and maintains it all the way to 4,500rpm...

All-new Mazda3 is fluidity in motion

In the looks department, at a glance one is hard pressed to tell the difference between the two, so it looks like Mazda is sticking with its tried and tested formula of one look, two segments just like how the previous generation was, without close scrutiny. From the front, you’d be really hard pressed to tell them apart, such is the strong genetic bearing on both versions. All the way up until the A-pillar, you’d have to have a real keen eye for detail to discern one from the other, with the biggest tell-tale sign being the more pronounced and aggressive 5-point front grille of the Mazda3 extending down towards the lower air dam while the Mazda6 had a smaller, more elegant design.

Citroën DS5: Turning Heads Since 2011

The Citroen DS5 isn’t new for 2014, as it was unveiled back in November 2011 for Europe, but considering the marque’s variant change history, you can expect the current variant to remain unchanged for at least the next three years.

Volkswagen Polo 1.6: Big on Fun

Being the third variant under VW’s localization program, the new Polo 1.6 had to carry on the VW tradition of superior German engineering but with a local price tag, so it had a lot of ground to cover to prove itself worthy to wear the VW nameplate after the Passat and Polo Sedan.
