Porsche Cayman, 3rd-generation, arrives on domestic shores

  Porsche Cayman in its third generation presentation today, 14 May, arrived on domestic shores, courtesy of Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP). Aside from the new Porsche Caymans, there were the Porsche Cayenne S Diesel and Cayenne Turbo S. The latest Cayennes increase the variant’s range to eight models in SDAP’s repertoire . Having made its debut at the Los Angeles last November, the new 2-seater Porsche Cayman is lower and longer than its predecessor. Lighter, faster and more efficient are the other adjectives. Specifically, Porsche Cayman/Cayman S lightweight body is 30 kilograms lighter than the previous Cayman. At a glance, the new Cayman has a longer wheel base and wider track, with 18″ wheels, low profile 235/45 front & 265/45 rear tyres for the Cayman, and larger 19″ wheels, 235/40 front & 265/40 rear tyres for the Cayman S. Standard bi-Xenon with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System headlights fulfill the car’s imposing front fascia that houses rounded foglights on the upper portion of the forward thrusting bumper. Amenities and conveniences for the regular Cayman include Tyre Pressure monitoring, Park Assist for front and rear, Power Steering Plus, and Sound Package Plus with 9 loudspeakers and 235 watts output. 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo line-up is the latest representation of the world’s favorite Sportscar variant

  With the observation of half a century of the Porsche 911, the Stuttgart-based Sportscar marque has revealed the latest representation of the 911: the 911 Turbo/Turbo S. Both Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S features all-wheel drive, active rear axle steering, adaptive aerodynamics, full LED headlights (the Turbo S model even has camera-based four-point daytime running lights, optional for the 911 Turbo), retractable three-stage front spoiler, three-point adjustable rear wing, lighter and longer chassis (100mm), and wider rear panels. The wide rear body panels of the latest Porsche 911 Turbo are 28 mm wider than on the 911 Carrera 4S line-up. A wider rear means the 911 Turbo/Turbo S line-up takes up larger wheels – two-tone forged 20-inch wheels with hub wheel locks. The interior is completely redesigned in both Porsche 911 Turbos, and it builds on the 911 Carrera family. The S model is particularly well equipped, offering such features as an exclusive interior in a black/carrera red color combination and sport seats plus with 18-way adjustment and memory. Porsche enters World Endurance C/Ship & Le Mans with the radical 911 RSR

  Porsche has built the new 911 RSR for its imminent participation in the WEC (World Endurance Championship) when the season kicks off on 14 April and the Le Mans 24-Hour. Le Mans, of course, needs no introduction as the popular annual endurance series since 1923 is scheduled for 22 – 23 June. Porsche 911 RSR enters WEC (World Endurance Championship) The WEC, into its second season, has been well received in the European circles. The 6-hour endurance series comprises mostly Le Mans Prototypes and Grand Tourer-style racing cars. This year’s WEC rounds include the 6-hour season opener at Silverstone on 14 April, followed by rounds at the Spa Francorchamps, Belgium on 4 May; Le Mans on 22 – 23 May; Sao Paulo, Brazil on 1 September; Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, USA on 22 September; Fuji Oyama, Japan on 20 October; Shanghai, China on 10 November; and the finale at Sakhir, Bahrain on 30 November. Last year’s WEC was ruled by Audi Sport and the strong factory-backed Toyota Racing Team.
