On outlook, the GT3-R is almost a direct semblance to the race car, complete with new carbon-fiber front splitter and fixed rear wing on the boot lid. The bonnet incorporates two vents to improve the cooling capacity of the powertrain system for repeated accelerations while also invoking the shape of the Continental GT3 racer in a styling element where form follows function. Additionally, the inspiration of the Continental GT3 race car is highlighted by the use of two-tone green graphics that trace the two power lines to the side profile of the car. Further inspiration from the Continental GT3 is reflected in the finishing touches to the exterior: the headlamp bezels, matrix grille, window surrounds and bumper strips, all in gloss black. The visual appeal of the GT3-R is completed by new lightweight 21-inch wheels, machine-forged from high-strength alloy and finished in gloss black. Titanium exhaust are used to cut 7 kgs off the gross weight, as well as provide that unique sound.
Obviously Bentley has spruced up the inside of the GT3-R with plenty of carbon trimmings and special materials such as; a unique two-seat cabin in carbon fiber, Alcantara and finest leather (Beluga) almost everywhere around the cabin, special materials for the steering and gear knob, and more carbon fiber trims on the center console, door and inner panels. The vivid accent green special materials are utilized as a hide color on the seats, instrument panel and door panels and in contrast stitching throughout the seats and diamond-quilted areas. Furthermore, GT3-R badging adorns the center console, passenger-side fascia panel and sill treadplates, while the seats receive GT3-R stitching to the headrests in contrast-green thread.
The Continental GT3-R is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 powerplant, with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission transferring power to the wheels. Thanks to the new engine software control, the GT3-R pushes 580 PS (572 bhp) and 700 Nm of torque at an access top speed of 273 km/h (TBC). A 0 – 100km/h sprint takes just 3.8 secs. Complementing the revised powertrain is a further development of Bentley’s renowned all-wheel drive system, which now features torque vectoring for the first time. Together with modified Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a chassis tune optimized for outright cornering ability, the Continental GT3-R is the most dynamic, responsive and involving Bentley road car ever.
Bentley Continental GT3-R, the best sports luxury and performance ever built at Crewe
For unmatched handling, the GT3-R incorporates the Continental V8’s sports-tuned setup, air springs and dampers. This combination, together with a sport-focussed ESC (Electronic Stability Control) program, offers a Continental with a new level of handling dynamics and turn-in agility, while both the chassis and powertrain respond immediately to throttle inputs. stopping power relies on Bentley’s Carbon Silicon Carbide (CSiC) braking system: 420 mm front discs are slowed by 8-piston calipers finished in eye-catching green paint, while 356 mm discs are fitted to the rear axle.
Available only in Glacier White only, the Continental GT3-R arrives later this year in selected countries.
