The Ducati Strada China Adventure is supported by Next Bike, principal of the Ducati brand in the country and a subsidiary of the Naza Group of Companies.
The Ducati Strada China Adventure is slated for the 28th August when the group departs on the tour across the North-eastern China for a total distance of 5,168km. The starting point is the Tianjin metropolis and the tour ends at Dalian city on 16 September. Thus far, only twelve Ducatis have signed up for this long haul excursion, led by Ducati Welly Sg Buloh owner Ngo Yoke Kwang. According to Welly Ducati, this one-in-a-lifetime adventure should attract more participants nearer to the main event date. “We presume that more Ducati owners will join in the Ducati Strada China Adventure after the Raya celebrations,” Kwang explained. Kwang understood the tough Northern-east China route, he reiterated, “The North-eastern China’s lesser population mass and challenging routes will undoubtedly be difficult to tackle, but I’m confident the breathtaking scenery and sites there would be something the riders will truly appreciate.”
Most Ducati China Adventure participants will embark on the tour riding the Ducati Multistrada variant, as well as the Hyperstrada variant, which is scheduled for a domestic debut in the fourth quarter of the year. Several of the participants gave their anticipated response on the forthcoming long haul ride. First-time participant Kelvin Chin looks forward to put both his riding and photography skills to the ultimate test, “I signed up for this adventure across China for an opportunity to experience the camaraderie amongst my fellow Ducatisti friends as well.”
Another first-timer Wong Ken Loong who has experienced riding across the Peninsular and parts of Thailand stated, “This adventure is part of my preparations for my ultimate goal and that is to ride to the World Ducati Week in 2016.”
Highlights of the adventure tour include a ride along the 100km-long ‘Red Beach’ via Panjin, followed by a ride through the Greater Khingan Mountains towards Heihe city in the Heilongjiang Province, as well as a visit to the Yalu River Bridge. Other notable activities scheduled for the tour include visits to the North Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty, riding across the region’s famed Three River Plains’ golden rice fields, and a tour up in the republic’s largest barrier lake that is surrounded by thick-forested hills all-round, Jingpo Lake.
