|The 2015 Ford Mustang has arrived in the country and is currently the highlight at the Publika in Solaris Dutamas, Sri Hartamas from 11 – 15 March. The Mustang, on its inaugural appearance here, is expected to go on sale in the country from December.|
The Ford Mustang needs no formal introduction as it is one of the most iconic speedsters in the world. More than 9 million Mustangs have been sold in its 50 years of continuous production at its assembly plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, U.S.A.
Ford Mustang is the Stallion that is in your face!
At a glance, the 2015 Ford Mustang features a lower, wider stance with a reduction in roof height, and wider rear fenders and track. The signature shark-bite fascia and trapezoidal grille give the front its iconic look, while the sleek profile with a steeply sloped windshield and rear glass pay homage to the return of Mustang’s fastback motif. The headlights comes in tri-bar and claw-like projectors, while the rearlights features three-dimensional and tri-bar structure with sequential turn signals.
The information and controls an active driver needs are all readily accessible in the aviation-inspired cockpit, which is executed with the highest degree of craftsmanship ever found in a Mustang. Large, clear instrumentation puts vehicle information right in front of the driver in the roomier cabin, while improved ergonomics and tactile switches and knobs provide better control. In addition, the added width and a new rear suspension contribute to improved shoulder and hip room for rear-seat passengers, and a more usefully shaped trunk can accommodate two large luggages or golf bags.
The Ford Mustang, offered in the country, is available in both fastback and convertible, and with a choice of a 5.0-liter V8, producing 435 horsepower and 528 Nm (390 lb.-ft.) of torque, or a turbocharged, fuel-efficient 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, producing 310 horsepower.
New suspensions are one of the major highlights for the new Mustang, including a new perimeter subframe at the front and new integral-link independent rears. The front’s subframe helps to stiffen the structure while reducing mass, providing a better foundation for more predictable wheel control that benefits handling, steering and ride. Moreover, new double-ball-joint front MacPherson strut system enables the use of larger, more powerful brakes. To top it off, the 2015 Mustang has the most capable brake lineup ever.
The 2015 Ford Mustang is expected to be offered in right-hand drive to suit domestic flavor; availability and prices become valid as soon as Ford Malaysia (Sime Darby Auto Connexion) confirms it later in the year. The 2015 Ford Mustang has an estimated starting price of RM 350,000 – 400,000.
