Ford Ranger line-up gets two new additions: Ranger XL Single Cab 4X4 and Double Cab 4X2

Ford Ranger XL Double Cab 4X2 Lo-Rider Sime Darby Auto Connexion, the country’s Ford distributors, has added two new Ford Ranger XLs with manual transmission to their most popular Pick-up Truck variant.

The “Built Ford Tough” truck needs no introduction as it is and has always been tough on- and off-road. Both Ford Ranger XL Single Cab 4X4 and Double Cab 4X 2 Lo-Rider have best-in-class loading capacity of more than one ton. Additionally, the Rangers have class-leading water-wading capability of 800 millimeters, even when fully laden, and ground clearance of 200 mm, as well as segment-leading towing capacity 2,500 kilograms for the Ford Ranger XL Single Cab and 2,200 kgs on the Ranger XL Double Cab Lo-Rider.

Inside, the Ford Ranger XL Double Cab Lo-Rider gets a more refined and roomier interior. Thanks to the spacious cabin, the XL Double Cab has ample leg room and knee clearance for rear passengers. Three adults can easily fit in the second row of the Double Cab while two six-foot-tall adults can comfortably sit one behind the other. On the other hand, the Ford Ranger Single Cab, a workhorse and value-for-money preposition, incorporates an extended cargo bed for loading, which is 1.82 cubic meters longer compared to the previous Ranger of the same version. And obviously,  single cab means there’s no room for rear passengers.

A 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel powerplant pushes either Ford Ranger XL to a respectable 120 PS and 285 Nm of torque. These additional Ranger variants also offer exemplary fuel consumption from as low as 8.9l/100 km. This fuel consumption figure, combined with the 80-liter fuel tank featured in both Ranger XLs, gives customers a range of 1,000 km before having to stop for gas. All engines have also been calibrated to meet the most stringent emission standards wherever Ford Rangers are sold.

The Ford Ranger XLs comprise advanced safety protection throughout, from high-strength steel to multiple load paths that divert crumples at the front, side and rear of the vehicle. Pertinent safety features incorporated are; Electronic Passive Anti-Theft (EPATS), Side Door Impact Beams, Collapsible Steering Column, and Electronic Shift On-The-Fly to select drive modes for the 4X4 only.

Ford Ranger 4x4 High Rider

The Ford Ranger XL Single Cab and Double Cab Lo-Rider are now open for booking and test drives at all Ford showrooms nationwide. The two Ranger XLs were introduced last weekend in the Peninsular and is slated for East Malaysia from 15 May. Available in Cool White and Highlight Silver (Double cab 4X2 Lo-Rider), the Ford Ranger 2.2L XL 4×4 Single Cab and the 2.2L XL 4×2 Double Cab Lo-Rider are priced RM71,888 and RM69,999.
