You’ve heard of the Porsche Macan, now get a load of the most powerful variant in its range; the Macan GTS!
The Porsche Macan GTS comes loaded with a 2.9l V6 twin turbo and tweaked up 20 hp to boot 380 hp and 520 Nm. The engine is paired to a new dual-clutch PDK (or Chrono pack) to hit 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 261 km/h.
Apart from the engine tweak, the GTS got new dampings and adaptive air suspensions to give ride and handling a huge boost. It drives like a sports car, needless to say. Standard ceramic brakes ensure effective stopping.
As for looks, it’s easy for SUV sports enthusiasts to pick up a liking for the Macan, much more for the GTS version. Those 20-in RS Spyder wheels are one reason and the sound from the fitted sport exhaust is the other. Of course, the Macan GTS is much more of a looker too. And Porsche knew how to do it with a Sport Design just for its top flight Macan.
At the front, the black painted panels and LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) are giveaways. The profile of the Macan GTS is accentuated by those striking skirts. From the rear, 3-D lights with a light bar (like the New 911) are standard. Optionally available is the rearlights with PDLS plus in black. Other pertinent GTS exclusives include those 20-inch satin gloss black wheels, red calipers, trim strips in high gloss black, and black diffuser and exhausts.
A lot of emphasis has been stressed on comfort level, although Porsche’s always trying to go all Sports. Everywhere in the cabin, you’ve got high-end materials from Alcantara to brushed aluminum. Full-grained leather Is standard for the steering and shifters. The driver’s seat has 8-way adjustment and comes with side bolsters. The GTS’ upholstery is decked in Carmine Red or Crayon with additional Alcantara features and color accents, while a charging tray is there for that purpose.
The Macan GTS has adaptive cruise control (Traffic Jam Assist, Park Assist including rear view camera and Surround View), a heated windscreen and ionizer (optional). These are on top of standard safety and driver assistance systems.
