The recently introduced Honda City Hybrid was delivered to its first customer, Wilson Wong, who also became the first person to own a City Hybrid i-DCD in all of South East Asia.

The official delivery came less than a month after the City Hybrid was introduced in Malaysia. Together with the Jazz Hybrid, Malaysia is the only country outside Japan to introduce the Sport Hybrid i-DCD system, supporting Honda Malaysia’s strategy to focus on Hybrid cars. These Sport Hybrid models are the only Hybrid models in Malaysia priced below RM90,000, making them incredibly attractive and ideal cars
for discerning customers who are looking for value-for-money vehicles that are fun to drive with a decent performance. In Japan, Honda has sold close to 865,000 units of Hybrid vehicle with the i-DCD system.

To mark the occasion, Wong who bought the Honda City Hybrid in Modern Steel Metallic hue from Honda dealership Tenaga Setia Resources said, “I have been searching for a car that is family-friendly yet still offers sporty driving performance. I was very excited when I heard that Honda Malaysia is introducing the City Hybrid as this model fits my requirements of a spacious model with good safety features, and is fuel efficient and suitable for daily use. After taking it for a test drive, I was even more impressed by the advanced technology in this model and the fact that it is able to provide a powerful and sporty driving performance as well. I am very happy with my new car and the services provided by the dealer.”

We are very chuffed that we were the one who sealed the deal with Wilson Wong, who turned out to be the very first customer of the New City Sport Hybrid. Wilson also received a token of appreciation from Honda M’sia on his purchase with
tickets to the 2017 Formula 1 Malaysia Grand Prix in October and Modulo accessories package worth a total of RM5,070.

Since its launch in March this year, the City has strengthened its position as the
B-segment leader by achieving more than 11,000 units sales in just four months. This record is consistent with the City’s popularity with Malaysians, having sold more than 260,000 units since it was officially introduced here in 2001.

Of the three variants of the Honda City, the E variant which is equipped with high
value-for-money features is the most popular, recording over 40% of the sales, followed by the premium V variant at 39% and S variant at 21%. More than 31% of new owners preferred Modern Steel Metallic as the color of their New City. White Orchid Pearl was also a hot favorite with 28% opting for this color.
