Honda HR-V and CR-V get Black Edition treatment

Honda has announced the HR-V and CR-V Black Edition for the U.K. market. While the HR-V gets the black edition treatment for the first time, the CR-V Black edition will be made available in limited production run.

Coming on the back of the success of the specially treated CR-V, the HR-V variant takes up further upgrades on the standard SE version, including black running boards, skid plates front grille and mirror caps, and 18-inch alloy wheels; while inside owners get some nice touches including special edition leather and carpets.

Arriving dealership in Britain, the HR-V is offered in three variants, from entry level to the top-of-line diesel entry. The entry level 1.5 i-VTEC manual comes in at 25,000 pounds, an automatic CVT version at 26,210 pounds and the manual diesel at just 26,820 pounds.

Launched in the UK and Europe in summer 2015, the HR-V marked Honda’s return to the compact crossover SUV sector, a sector which the marque invented with the introduction of the original HR-V in 1999. The latest incarnation stays true to the roots of HR-V by offering the drive and dynamism of a coupe, but with the practicality and versatility of a SUV.

On the road the HR-V portrays a characterful poise, with distinctive, boldly sculpted lines and a tough, solid stance. Interior-wise, it offers occupants class-leading space and, thanks to Honda’s innovative Magic Seat ® system, high levels of versatility. High quality soft-touch materials and sophisticated design define the HR-V’s interior, where Honda’s designers married expansive spaciousness with the feel of a sporty, enveloping cockpit.

The CR-V Black Edition is available in 4WD with a choice of petrol or diesel and manual or automatic. Exterior features include black running boards, tailgate spoiler, front grille and skid plates and 19-inch black wheels.

Inside, the high-quality full leather interior features contrasting stitching with an embossed Black Edition logo on the front and rear seats, with the door panels and arm rests also finished in black leather. This premium interior is finished off with carpet mats complete with the Black Edition logo.

The Honda CR-V runs from 31,000 pounds to 34,300 pounds, from entry to top-of-the-range variant,
