Honda Malaysia has introduced a new color for its popular, best-selling compact Crossover SUV, the HR-V. The Honda HR-V now comes with a Dark Ruby Red Pearl shade, along with a host of exterior and ride enhancements.
The Honda HR-V has been one of the most highly sought models in Honda’s repertoire since it came out in February 2016. As of April this year, the HR-V has taken up some 28,500 units to remain the leading compact Crossover SUV in the country.
Most obvious exterior addition is the new 17-inch wheel design, which add a little more dynamism on the Honda HR-V. The HR-V maintains its 1.8L SOHC i-VTEC engine, which is combined with the Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). As an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV), the HR-V offers exemplary fuel efficiency and a smooth, linear drive.
Practicality remains a big plus point for the Honda HR-V. Through the Multi-Utility Cargo Space, various versatile rear seat configurations from Utility Mode, Tall Mode to Long Mode can be adjusted to meet the needs of all lifestyles and utilities. Advanced technology features like the Automatic Brake Hold and Electric Parking Brake for a seamless driving experience is made available for all variants.
Safety has always been Honda’s top priority and all 3 HR-V variants have a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating. The HR-V takes up several prominent features, which include the (VSA) Vehicle Stability Assist and tElectric Park brake.
Honda M’sia has set a target of 1,500 units per month for the HR-V, and the company is optimistic that the Dark Ruby Red Pearl HR-V will be received positively by the citizens. Apart from the Dark Ruby Red Pearl, the current colors available for the HR-V are Taffeta White, Modern Steel Metallic and Ruse Black Metallic. In addition, a new ‘Rear Shelf’ is also offered as an optional accessory for HR-V owners. Priced at RM550 (inclusive GST), it is available at all 88 Honda dealerships nationwide.
“Due to the positive response of the red color on the City and Jazz, we have decided to introduce the red colour for the HR-V as well. The Dark Ruby Red Pearl color blends well with the stylish design and smart features of the HR-V. I believe that it will appeal to young executives and young families that seek a more vibrant and lifestyle looking Compact SUV. We are positive that the new color option for the HR-V will further enhance its popularity and meet the markets demand,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Katsuto Hayashi.
Honda Malaysia also announced even though the demand for the HR-V is high, the Company managed to maintain the waiting period to between 1-2 months. By increasing its production, Honda Malaysia remains committed to deliver the vehicles on time to customers.
