In their quest to sustain the No.1 spot in the non-National segment, Honda Malaysia announced the Jazz, one of the top selling models, has its 100,000th customer. Previously. it was the Civic which drew its 130,000th customer.
The little compact Crossover known as the Jazz has set the market on fire since it first came out in 2003. The then imported model sold 18,000 units during its lifespan. As Honda Malaysia’s production capability expanded, the locally-assembled Jazz Hybrid and Jazz Petrol were introduced with much lower prices. It was obviously a sound strategic business sense for Honda, the sales for the domestically made Jazz topped 80,000 units.
Now into its third-gen, the Jazz has achieved 75,000 units since 2014 until May this year. In the segment compact hatchback, the Jazz command a market share of 62%.
Honda Malaysia’s MD and CEO Toichi Ishiyama remarked, “We want to thank all 100,000 Jazz customers for their unwavering support in making this milestone possible. The Jazz has captured many hearts over the years. It is a compact car designed to be fun, versatile and practical; meeting the needs of customers from different lifestyles. The Jazz attracts a wide group of customers, which varies from young executives to college goers and young married couples.”
About the Jazz petrol & Hybrid
Jazz Petrol along with the Jazz Hybrid took the industry by storm when they first came on the scene in 2014. The Jazz Hybrid is exclusively for this country.
The 1.5l CVT petrol and hybrid 1.5l DOHC i-VTEC with 7-speed dual clutch quickly became a hit with their adorable looks. But, the most important factor was space; the Jazz offers a little more head- and leg-room for occupants, compared to compact sedans. The emphasis here is maximizing space for improved comfort. It’s got four modes of seat configuration to do so: Utility, Long, Tall and Refresh. Of course, the instilled safety features didn’t diminished the Jazz’s value propositions one bit.
Being the 100,000 customer, Honda rewarded the new owner with a complete Protection Package and Mugen accessory package. This package comprises Ultra Body Coating, Ultra Window Coating and Wheel Lock Nut. Honda took the opportunity to introduce this package to all customers at a cost, starting 1 July.
