|In its quest to hit the ultimate target of 60,000 units for the year, Honda Malaysia has released its latest sales update for the past month.|
With the recent introduction of the locally-assembled Honda Jazz, sales for the month of July had been very brisk, with 8,780 bookings and 6,039 units delivered across all Honda variants. Obviously, the locally-assembled Jazz at an affordable price tag of RM74,800 contributed a satisfactory total to Honda M’sia’s July record with 1,434 bookings. Other Honda variants which contributed included; the Jazz Hybrid, also a CKD variant, with 1,107 units, City at 3,114 units, and the CR-V 2.0 & 2.4 at 743 and 500 units.
Related factors that assisted Honda M’sia in achieving a record for the month July were; the reduction of hybrid battery prices for the Honda Jazz Hybrid (announced in June), extended warranty of up to 8 years for the hybrid packs. For July, the TIV (Total Industry Volume) reported a 17 percent take-up of hybrid vehicles in the country. Honda M’sia, with its diverse hybrid vehicles like the Jazz Hybrid, CR-Z, Insight and Civic Hybrid, is right up there as the top seller of hybrid vehicles.
Honda M’sia is confident about the upbeat automotive industry into the second half of the year. It is possible Honda M’sia might introduce a new variant or two before the year concludes.
As for dealerships, Honda M’sia is currently striving to establish more dealers at major cities. The target is to hit 80 Honda dealerships by the end of the year.
