Hyundai IONIQ updated with new AVN System

To complement the IONIQ Hybrid’s high-tech and futuristic qualities, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has upgraded the IONIQ with an advanced Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) system in offering convenience to the driver and also to cater the customer’s varied lifestyles.


Built around the Android operating system, the upgraded 8-inch AVN system comes with a wide range of functions and applications, which include: Radio, MP3 Playback, Spotify app, Built-in Bluetooth wireless communication and phonebook transfer as well as My Hyundai app to place a service booking or call for 24 hours road assist, Navigation apps with Waze and Google Maps installed, and Clock & weather widgets that are updated via Wi-Fi.

The 8-inch AVN system also supports standalone applications, which makes it ideal as applications such as Spotify, Waze and Google Maps, do not get disrupted by incoming phone calls. Apart from that it also integrates-well with both the iOS and Android based smartphones. The new AVN system comes with 3 years or 100,000 km warranty (whichever comes first).

With the introduction of the new upgraded AVN system, Hyundai Malaysia now offers the IONIQ Hybrid in 3 variants namely: Ioniq Hybrid HEV  at starting price of RM100,388, IONIQ Hybrid HEV Plus at  RM114,088 and IONIQ HEV Plus with AVN System at RM116,488. All prices listed do not include insurance.

Existing IONIQ Hybrid customers can opt for the upgrade by trading in their existing head unit and topping up the difference. Dubbed the ‘driving device’, the IONIQ offers customers uncompromised driving experience and a car that is equipped with the latest connectivity and safety technology. The IONIQ calls upon two key influences, efficiency and technology in its design, which is combined to create a unique and future-looking appearance. The eco-friendly and high-tech features are met consistently throughout the IONIQ, including the attractive styling of the car as form and function combine seamlessly.

Other noteworthy features found in the IONIQ Hybrid include the Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Front and Rear Parking System, seven-airbag system and the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Features that are exclusive to the HEV Plus variant include Wireless Charging System for Smartphones, Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEB), Smart Cruise Control System (SCC), and a Rain Sensor.
