Hyundai Palisade SUV scores Red Dot Award

Red Dot has recently awarded the Hyundai Palisade SUV a design accolade. Many of you would know that Red Dot is an annual accolade that honors excellence in product and communication design from global submissions.

Although not available in Malaysia, the Hyundai Palisade is categorized as a Premium SUV by the Korean marque. It won a Red Dot for ‘Product Design, Cars and Motorcycles, receiving recognition for its refined visual design. As a premium SUV, the SUV has the trending technology and safety features. The 8-seater SUV offers occupants exceptional comfort and space.

Hyundai deems this SUV as a ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ concept, but as an automotive enthusiast, an SUV should be just a Sports Utility Vehicle. These days all SUVs are made to look bolder, and the Palisade has a masculine and beefed-up impression. For premium feel, the interior decor imparts a comfortable, classy feel with horizontal trimmings.

Palisade is Hyundai’s largest SUV with a long wheelbase, and rides on standard 18-inch wheels with optional 20-inch alloy wheels. On the outside, Palisade exhibits a powerful, ironclad look with its voluminous silhouette and chrome-plated feature lines. The fascia features a dominant chrome mesh grille with a sterling ‘H’ (Hyundai) logo in the center, and vertical LED headlights.

Inside, space is the obvious USP especially with an SUV fit for 8 pax. For its premium status, the SUV is equipped with high-quality leather upholstery, stylish display  and a panoramic glass layout, as well as an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display and sixteen cup holders.

The Palisade’s win marks the third consecutive year that Hyundai has come out on top at the Red Dot Design Award. The recognition follows the Palisade’s win at Germany’s eminent iF Design Award 2019 in the automobiles/vehicles category.

Hyundai’s design award-winning streak comes amid the company’s continuing pursuit of innovation and growing investments in design and engineering. Building on the latest achievements, Hyundai continues its quest to produce high-quality automobiles that are affordable and liked by people worldwide.
