Ahead of the Beijing show, Infiniti has teased enthusiasts online through its recent evaluation video of the Q50 Eau Rouge; deemed a high-performance vehicle. The footage shows a Q50 Eau Rouge prototype version, driven by Infiniti’s Director of Performance and four-time F1 Champion & Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel. Vettel tested the 560hp high performance sports saloon at the Millbrook Proving Ground automotive testing facility, UK, putting the prototype through a challenging series of performance, handling and precision driving evaluations. At the conclusion of the test run, Vettel gave vast feedbacks on the schematics and driving dynamics of the prototype. The German’s feedbacks would be used to proceed into the next stages of the prototype, which would include the prototype’s extensive development program consists of testing components, packaging and viability.
The Q50 Performance prototype is based on the Eau Rouge twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter V6 petrol engine and F1 inspired, carbon fiber sports concept first unveiled at the NAIAS (North American International Motor Show). The Q50 Eau Rouge now tells a compelling power story with a full 568hp and 600Nm of torque on demand.
The 3,8 cc, V6, 24-valve, twin-turbocharged petrol engine partners a full-time, all-wheel drive system with 50/50 front-to-rear torque split. Predicted acceleration of 100km/h (60mph) in less than four seconds and a top speed close to 289.6 km/h (180mph) would put the Q50 Eau Rouge firmly into the premier league of super-sports saloons.
