Jaguar F-Type Coupe arrives in style

Jaguar F-Type Coupe arrives in style Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia today unveiled the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe for the domestic Luxury automobile market. Made entirely of aluminium, the F-Type Coupe is considered the foremost performance-oriented and dynamic speedster by Jaguar. The introduction of the Jaguar F-Type Coupe was held at Jaguar Land Rover M’sia’s new showroom at Menara Worldwide, Jalan Bukit Bintang in the heart of the capital City.

The Jaguar F-Type Coupe was previously previewed at a Jaguar Land Rover M’sia (JLRM) roadtour in June. Prior to that, JLRM announced the Range Rover Sport, in conjunction with the merging of Jaguar and Land Rover badges into a united front.

The F-Type Coupe is the most dynamic and adrenaline-packed Jaguar yet

Offered in two distinctive versions F-Type R and F-Type S in the country, the sports car has a design that is based on the C-X16 concept. At a glance, the Coupe comprises a dramatic cabin-rearward stance and is defined by several heartlines: a front grille with shark gill openings, headlights with LED J Blade DRLs, strong wheel arches, muscular front and rear wings and a low sweeping roof profile. The roof panel itself is available in either body color shades or panoramic glass (R Coupe). A deployable rear spoiler sits within the tapered shut-line, while slim, wrap-around LED lights flank the tailgate, with optional powered open/close functionality. Additionally, a tapered cabin sits between the powerful rear haunches for that elusive sports car outlook. Lastly, twin exhaust and 20-inch ‘Tornado’ wheels are standard for S Coupe, while quad exhaust and 20-inch Gyrodyne rims are incorporated for the R version.

Thanks to a lightweight bodyshell, the F-Type Coupe has a torsional rigidity of up to 33,000 Nm/degree which denotes the F-Type Coupe as the variant with the highest rigidity of any Jaguars on the current list.

Moving to the inside, the R Coupé’s driver-focused cabin clearly conveys the car’s pedigree and sporting prowess, through a combination of taut, technical styling, involving interfaces and premium materials and textures. The S version, on the other hand, has more subtle finishes and trimmings.

The top-of-the-line F-Type Coupe is gifted premium leather seats with inflatable side–bolstering and support wings. An ‘R’ emblem is embossed on the headrests of the seats. Seats are available in three color matches, Ivory, Came and Red duo-tones. At the same time, a pure ‘Jet’ interior colorway is offered with three options of contrast stitching (Ivory, Red or Firesand) on the instrument panels, door casings, grab-handle highlight and ‘Cubby’ box. 14/14 way electric seats with memory function are applicable for the F-Type Coupe. Major interior highlights include a driver-focused cockpit with a small-diameter, flat-bottomed steering wrapped in Jet leather or Suedecloth (optional) with the R emblem, a touchscreen with 8-inch LCD, Meridian Sound system, three rounded knobs for temperature and dual zone a/c access, two rounded meters with a full color 5-inch TFT information panel within the instrument cluster, a metallized gearknob with an audio power, volume switch and various onboard switches, and 407 liters trunk space.

The F-Type R Coupe is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 powerplant that churns 550PS of output and 680 Nm of torque. This indicates a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of a whopping 300km/h. The S version is input with a 3.0-liter engine which puts out a commendable 380 PS and 460 Nm of torque. Zero-to-hundred sprint and top speed ratings are 4.9 secs and 275 km/h. Both the F-Type R and F-Type S feature Jaguar’s eight-speed close-ratio Quickshift transmission which is optimized for sporting performance, with full manual sequential control from the central SportShift selector or steering wheel-mounted paddles.

Braking system for the F-Type Coupe comprises Jaguar’s High Performance brakes for the S version and Super Performance brakes for the R Coupe. In addition, the F-Type S Coupe has standard LSD, whereas the R Coupe takes up Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring.

Jaguar Land Rover M’sia retails the F-Type R Coupe at RM1,158,888 and the S Coupe at RM899,888; all prices exclude insurance. The F-Type Coupe consists several exciting exterior and interior color scheme combinations: both Coupes are offered in Polaris White, Salsa Red or Stratus Blue paint and on the inside, the S Coupe gets either Jet Seats with Red Stitch or Red Seats and the R Coupe is allocated Red Duo, Jet Seats with Red Stitch or Jet seats with Red Stitch. The standard five-year warranty for the F-Type Coupe include Scheduled Service and Premium Roadside Assistance.
