This year’s Geneva Motor show COTY promises to be a tough race as the judges sort out their short-list of seven favorites from a total of 29 models that qualified initially: Audi A4, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XE, Mazda MX-5, Opel/Vauxhall Astra, Skoda Superb, Volvo XC90. The final selection will be made based on criteria of innovation, design, quality and value for money. The Car of the Year trophy is highly sought after by automobile manufacturers, and with 52 years of selection is the oldest and most prestigious prize of its type awarded in Europe.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) couldn’t have picked a better venue to present the F-Type SVR at one of the world’s biggest stage. The Jaguar F-Type SVR is intended for 2nd quarter sales roll-out, after its Geneva Motor show premiere. Capable of 321 km/h (200mph), the new F-Type SVR is the first Jaguar SVR and is developed to exploit the two-seat aluminium sports car’s full potential while retaining its day-to-day usability. Lighter, faster and more powerful, the new F-Type SVR takes performance, dynamics and driver involvement to a new level yet retains the comfort and duality of character inherent to all Jaguar cars.
The new F-TYPE SVR is the first series production Jaguar to be developed by Special Vehicle Operations and benefits from JLR design and engineering teams’ know-ho about precision engineering, performance and design. The result is a 321 km/h (200 mph) all-weather supercar for daily commute. JLR even made a Convertible version so that enthusiasts can revel in the sound from the new titanium exhaust system.
