Jeep powers up World Surf League

Jeep Renegade Jeep is further expediting its partnership with the World Surf League for its upcoming European events. After competitions in South Africa, the Fijian Islands, Tahiti, Australia, Brazil and the United States, the champions of the World Surf League (WSL) arrive in Portugal and France in the coming weeks, taking part in the Cascais Women’s Pro Portugal (22 – 28 September), the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro France (6 – 17 October) and the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal (20 – 31 October).

The European events of the prestigious WSL Championship Tour (CT) are just a small part of the partnership between the WSL and Jeep. Announced last May, this multiannual global agreement, the first of its kind for Jeep, sees the brand as the WSL’s official and exclusive Global Partner in the automotive sector. It is the opportunity for the Jeep brand to let the general public know about its affinity with surfing, and let visitors drive the entire range of the Jeep SUVs.

The partnership with WSL further strengthens the connection between Jeep and the world of surfing that started in France in 2010 with the sponsorship of the last four editions of the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro France. Surfing represents the Jeep values and the spirit of freedom, passion and adventure that distinguish all varriants in the range of the legendary American brand. A common sense of being perfectly at one with the environment and with nature, and the desire to go beyond everyone’s limits. This is the fascination of surfing, which is not just a dynamic sport, but a distinctive lifestyle.

Jeep shares with surfing enthusiasts the desire to live the emotions to the full, in a more authentic and independent way. Just as a surfer on the waves uses his skill to dance with the forces of the sea, each Jeep variant is able to overcome any obstacle thanks to the use of a technology that has been developed over 74 years of driving on the most extreme and hostile terrains. Jeep Renegade, the official car of events in Portugal and France, will be at the disposal of the WSL organization and its athletes for an exclusive shuttle service.

The “Jeep Lounge”, a dedicated area, will be set up in the Sponsors’ Village where visitors and surf enthusiasts can ask for information about the Jeep range, check out the complete collection of official Jeep merchandising, and book a test drive on the Jeep variants on a specific obstacle course known as the “Jeep Track”.

In addition, always at the Jeep area, it will be possible to admire the unique surfboards using the original graphics created exclusively for the Jeep brand and for the WSL surfers by the famous Californian designer Jimbo Phillips (an artist specialized in graphics for the skateboard and surfing world.

During the Portuguese events, the public will be able to take part in a special session with a customization of a Jeep Renegade with UniPosca felt-tip markers and share the result of it on social networks, or join in the Wrangler Sunset Party organized on the beach at the end of the day’s competitions, around a specially customized model of the iconic Jeep. During the French event, fans can also take part in the Mini-Jeep Academy, a challenging course set up to test their ‘driving’ skills using a special ‘longboard’, that is an electric skateboard with the Jeep logo, built mainly for overcoming obstacle through the courses.

Finally, these world-class surfers and Jeep Ambassadors will be accessible to the fans during both the Quiksilver Pro France and the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal.
