|Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) today released the all-new Jaguar XF in two variants, XF Prestige and XF R-Sport. The new XF is part of the continuous renewal of the Jaguar sedan range for JLRM.|
Formed around Jaguar’s lightweight aluminium-intensive architecture, the new Jaguar XF, which sits between the recently launched XE and the top-of-the-range XJ, brings an unrivalled blend of design, dynamic capability, luxury and technology to the premium business car segment.
In looks, the new Jaguar XF’s dynamic, coupé-like design combines the taut proportions, elegant surfaces and perfect lines, along with a longer wheelbase, more interior space and exceptionally low aerodynamic drag of 0.26. The Prestige XF comes with distinctive features such as 17-inch Lightweight 15-spoke wheels, perforated leather seats, metal tread plates with Jaguar script and multi-function soft-grain leather steering wheel. The top-tiered XF R-Sport features 18-inch Helix 10-spoke wheels and R-Sport bodykit, R-Sport branded multi-function soft-grain leather steering and R-Sport metal tread plates. Dimension-wise, the new XF is 4,954mm long: at 2,960mm the wheelbase is 51mm longer than before, the front overhang 66mm shorter. Rear seat space is class-leading thanks to 15mm more legroom, 24mm more kneeroom and up to 27mm more headroom than before.
Thanks to the aluminium structure, the new Jaguar XF has a weight reduction of 190 kilograms, compared to the previous generation. An increase in torsional stiffness of up to 28 per cent offers a ride that’s impeccable, with precise handling and exemplary driving dynamics.
Undeniable plush interior is reserved for the new XF with a cabin that’s a seamless blend of contemporary luxury materials and trimmings, as well as state-of-the art technologies. With features such as a reconfigurable 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster as an option, and the InControl Touch infotainment system, the new XF is the most connected Jaguar ever.
Both available XF variants are powered by a 2.0-liter i4 turbocharged petrol engine with a maximum output of 240PS and 340NM of torque and matched to an 8-speed electronic automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift. At the same time, advanced systems like the JaguarDrive Control, Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), Torque Vectoring and All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) all contribute to the car’s driving precision. The car’s EPAS has been tweaked to offer improved feedback, control and immediate power assistance for total control at varying speeds and comprehensive assistance during turns.
The aluminium double wishbone design for the front suspension, widely considered as the best configuration for the front, is modelled closely on the F-Type’s for precise handling and steering response. Combined with Integral Link rear suspension and the near 50:50 weight distribution, the new XF Jaguar is guaranteed a joy to drive. The Jaguar XF R-Sport is tagged with a Sport suspension for even greater stability. Additionally, Jaguar’s All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), a low-speed cruise control, functions to manage the brakes and the throttle automatically to deliver the best possible traction, whatever the weather or conditions.
For the Malaysian market, the fully imported new Jaguar XF is priced at RM450,000 for XF Prestige and RM460,000 for the XF R-Sport; both prices exclude insurance. For a premium ownership experience, the new XF comes with Jaguar Care, an exclusive program that comprises a five-year warranty, five-year servicing and three-year roadside assistance.
