KLIMS ’13 is back for its 9th edition

This year’s KL International Motor show marks the ninth edition of the only highly recognized Motor show in the country and as always the Motor show is organized by Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA). Today’s announcement of KL International 2013 (KLIMS ’13) date also witnessed the appointment of Interexpo Sdn Bhd. as KLIMS ’13 Show Manager.

Aptly themed “Efficiency in Motion”, the KLIMS ’13 will take place from 15 – 24 November and is again to be held at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC). The 9th KLIMS promises to add more grandeur and excitement from the previous edition in 2010. The last KLIMS in 2010 saw some 321, 958 visitors throng the 10-day KLIMS at the PWTC, enabling the 8th edition KLIMS to record its highest attendance ever.

As in previous years, the show is a conspectus of the car marques in the country as well as a spectacle of concept cars and performance cars. In addition, the show offers plenty of auto related exhibits such as; car accessories, car mod kits, car care products and related industry players. KLIMS ’13 is slated to occupy close to 30,000 square meters of gross exhibition floor with over 150 participating exhibitors.

KLIMS, although happens every 3 years, is contrary to a neighboring country’s annual Motor show. This Motor show denotes much international flair and diversity when it comes to a large-scale Automotive exhibition. MAA’s Chairwoman Dato’ Aishah Ahmad reiterated, “Malaysia is the third largest market for passenger cars in ASEAN. KLIMS13 will offer Malaysia’s auto industry a chance to establish itself as a front-runner.”

Meantime, KLIMS ’13 theme of “Efficiency in Motion” is meant to express the global trend of the production of more energy efficient vehicles. Elaborating on the theme, Aishah elaborated. “The theme echoes the ethos of this era. Efficiency, whether in product designs or business operations, spurs the advancement of the auto industry. KLIMS13 aims to fuel the excitement for automobiles with showcases of cars which transcend boundaries where mobility meets efficiency, technology meets imagination, and design meets desire.”

Potential exhibitors of the KLIMS ’13 are advised to affirm their exhibition requirements early as MAA has already estimated 93% confirmed bookings for this year’s Motor show. The KLIMS ’13 targets a diverse demographics. which denotes 78.17% male/21.83% female; age group from 18 – 25 /26 – 35 make up the largest attendance at 68.3%; occupation-wise – Professional at 20.76%, Manager and Executive 31.48%, Director/Owner at 9.75%, Non-Executive 7.02% and the remainder 31%; and income per month stats reveal 15,000 above at 4.68%, 10,001 – 15,000 4.09%, 5001 – 10,000 14.62%, 3,001 – 5,000 27.68% and below 3,000 48.93%.

The KLIMS ’13 announcement was officiated by the Minister of International Trade and Industrt Dato’ Sri Mustapa Bin who witnessed a formal signing ceremony between MAA’s Chairwoman Aishah Ahmad and Interexpo’s Chairwoman Dato’ Paduka Marina Mahathir.

The KLIMS ’13 will operate at these hours come mid-November 11:00am – 10:00pm on weekdays and 10.00am – 10.00pm on weekends.
