New Land Rover DIscovery, slated for world premiere at Paris Motor Show

Land Rover has announced the new Discovery, ahead of its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show on 28 September. The new Land Rover Discovery is the brand’s full-sized, seven-seat SUV that is created with absolute versatility, capability and technology like no other.

New Land Rover Discovery

The new Discovery embodies Land Rover’s drive to go Above and Beyond, combining British desirability with an unstoppable spirit of adventure. Since 1948 Land Rover has been manufacturing authentic 4x4s that represent true breadth of capability across the model range. Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover Evoque each define the world’s 4×4 sectors. Land Rover products are currently sold in 180 global markets.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s Chief Design Officer, said, “New Discovery redefines the large SUV. Land Rover’s design and engineering teams have revolutionized the Discovery DNA to create a highly desirable, extremely versatile and hugely capable premium SUV.”

In Malaysia, JLRM (Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia) most recently introduced the diesel variant of the Discovery Sport. The Land Rover Discovery Sport 2.2L SD4 Diesel is powered by a proven 2.2-liter, 190PS and 420Nm turbodiesel engine mated to an advanced nine-speed automatic transmission for peerless refinement, efficiency, driver engagement and off-road capability.

Land Rover Discovery Sport’s bold and progressive design, which combines 5+2 seating configuration with design and engineering integrity in a compact footprint that is smaller than many traditional 5-seater SUVs, is unique in its segment. This streamlined design is complemented by class-leading usability: all-round visibility is excellent, while the interior and load space (up to 1,698L) are easily accessible and fully optimized.

In addition, the Premium SUV is loaded with a list of  latest active and passive safety advances. A comprehensive occupant safety package includes a total of seven airbags, as well as features like Hill Descent Control (HDC®), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Traction Control (ETC), Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), Hill Start Assist, Roll Stability Control (RSC), and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).

The Land Rover Discovery Sport 2.2L SD4 is priced at RM450,000, including a 5-year or 150,000km warranty, 5-year or 80,000km free scheduled maintenance and 3-year roadside assistance.
