|For the upcoming 2014 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show), Lexus has decided to unleash its RC F which is a step of the previously exhibited RC Coupe at last year’s Tokyo Motor show.|
The new Lexus RC F is styled a little more aggressive for that optimum performance, as well as the high speed stability sentiment. Lexus has infused wider wheels and tyres and added an active rear wing, air scoops, cooling ducts and carbon fiber components to make the RC F both functional and dynamic.
At the front-end, the signature ‘Spindle’ grille with an ‘F’ motif embedded in the mesh below the Lexus symbol take precedence. The hood is placed higher than that of the RC and it functions to create an obvious flared profile. Additionally, ducts beneath the front bumper and fenders and aerodynamic stabilizing fins are common characteristics for F typed Lexus. Air outlets of the front fender connects with side sills all the way to the rear to express an impressionable L shape, while stacked trapezoidal quad-outlet exhausts add further aggression and resemble Lexus’ Super Sports, the LFA. There’s even an active rear wing that deploys when the car goes above 80 km/h and retracts below 40 km/h.
Three variations of 10-spoke 19-inch forged aluminium wheels are available by versions; two are machine polished and one, High Plus grade wheels, is polished by hand.
2015 Lexus RC F Coupe: Interior schematics
The striking cockpit-like interior of Lexus RC F complements the aggressive exterior. Unique components include the meters, steering wheel, seats, ornamentation and pedals. The instrument panel is dominated by a switchable central dial which changes according to the four selectable driving modes.
Driver and occupants’ comfort are guaranteed by a Lexus-first elliptical cross-section thick-grip steering wheel with optimum placement of paddle gear shifts, the first in a Lexus, and all-new high back seats with an embossed F on the headrests. The seats, in five leather trims and contrasting perforations, have been styled to resemble tight-fitting athletic sportswear and to offer similar levels of support. Lastly, the new L-shaped rubber slits in the brake and accelerator pedals combine form and function to provide better foot grip.
Surefooted aggressive demeanor and lots of horsepower for the Lexus RC F
The Lexus RC F Coupe is instilled a very competent 5.0-liter powerplant that could punch above 450 horsepower. Further details will be made available following its NAIAS premiere on 14 January.
