Lexus is on schedule to roll out a new Concept car along with the New LS flagship sedan and relevant production models at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.

The Lexus LS is to be joined by the “LC” luxury flagship coupe, which launched in March symbolizing the dawn of a new era for the Brand, the partially redesigned “CT” compact hybrid hatchback, and the “NX” luxury #crossover, among others.

Since its initial launch in 1989, the Lexus LS has earned a reputation for smooth and powerful performance, as well as for exceptional quietness and comfort. Now in its fifth generation, in addition to taking on a daring coupe silhouette while preserving ample interior space and providing a more-emotional experience, the new LS, as Lexus’s flagship model, is equipped with a number of advanced technologies, achieving monumental advances in innovation as the symbol of the brand.

The 2018 Lexus LS is presented with a strikingly sleek and bold design with a coupe-like silhouette. The car’s lower profile and length give the new LS a stretched, ground-hugging appearance. Front highlights include reworked spindle grille mesh and the narrow slit-like 3-projector light that merges with an L-shaped LED light. The design follows Lexus’s GA-L global architecture.

The new flagship sedan’s interior fuses a driving-focused cockpit and a relaxing space. New LS is offered with new seating designs along with the available 28-way power adjustable front seats. Combining electric motors with a new pneumatic control system allows fine adjustment of the entire seat with minimal weight and bulk. In the rear seats, there are two dedicated heaters located in the shoulder and lower back areas. Lexus terms the new LS’ cabin as omotenashi (hospitality). A host of advanced technologies and up-to-date connectivity eith the multimedia system are the other major fixtures.

A new 60-degree 3.5-liter V6 engine has been specifically made available for the new LS. The new LS engine offers the output one would expect in a flagship sedan, 416 horsepower and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission for a premium passenger car, for the first time.

When it comes to safety, the LS is equipped with Lexus’ Integrated Safety Management Concept, plus the Lexus Safety System+; available with optional additional equipment.
