The Malaysia Autoshow which ended mid-April saw thousands flock to the show to peep the latest cars and such. The show’s ‘Buy a car, win a car’ promo of course rewarded lucky car buyers and ticket holders with grand and consolation prizes, which included a Perodua Myvi, a Bezza, a Vespa scooter and a Ninebot. The Malaysia autoshow ran from 11 – 14 April at MAEPS and had a total crowd of 420,000 visitors. Biggest presence at the show was the appearance of Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Mahathir.
After a recent draw, the winners were announced; the Myvi 1.3 went to a certain Chan Chui Yen, while the Bezza 1.0 Standard G was given to a Bon Kok Wei. The Vespa scooter was snapped up by Lee Yhing Huey and the Ninebot Segway Drift W1 was won by Mohd Zahid Mohd Nor.

The 2019 edition, themed “Mobility for All”, continued its tradition of showcasing the latest vehicles on the market, highlighting the advances in technology, safety and comfort of vehicles sold within the local market. The main hall had some 100 models on display by major players in the automotive industry. The other exhibition hall featured customized car mods, all things modified and lifestyle products .The final hall showed the country’s mobility ecosystem, displaying automotive styling, design, engineering and manufacturing. There were also a robot combat tournament, robotics and coding classes, STEM play grounds, skills demonstrations and e-sports competitions.
Focus on Road Safety
Introducedd at the show, Skilled Driver (Pemandu Cekap) is an awareness campaign for motorists and road users. This initiative focuses on the importance of driving habits and vehicle ownership practices. As an ongoing project by Government-linked MARi, this program is meant to empower motorists in the command of driving and energy efficiency aspects.
