Mazda’s most anticipated engine, the Skyactiv-X, has been added to the New Mazda3; the brand’s all-time bestseller. The Skyactiv-X joins the Mazda3’s existing engine options which already include the Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-D. The three engine options are now available for the European market.

The fourth-generation Mazda3 was initially unveiled in late 2019 at Los Angeles Auto Show. Well. The first thing to note is the more mature Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture and aggressive KODO design. Everything seems sharper and sleeker than before. Inside, the 4th-generation Mazda3 has become more intuitive and interaction friendly.  

As for driving dynamics, New Mazda3 promises a more enhanced driving attributes from accelerating, turning to braking. The car’s behavior feels completely natural while at the same time filtering out undesirable road input.

What’s Skyactive-X  engine

The Skyactiv-X engine features SPCCI or Spark Plug Controlled Compression Ignition, a world-unique system combining the performance and efficiency advantages of petrol and diesel power for a satisfyingly free-revving linear response and better fuel economy. This powerplant is inspired by the award-winning Mazda RX-Vision and Vision Coupe concepts.

With the GVC Plus torque vectoring system, standard across the board, the Mazda3 responds even more faithfully to the driver’s intentions.
